Any way, I'm kinda new to this site, but I visit the sister mag, Super Street, a lot more than I do this one. Shame on me, I guess. Both sites rock. Any way, I had the Automatic A540H transmission on my 1997 Rav4 rebuilt by IPT some 3 years back to handle up to 600hp and I have no complaints about the way it performs. I don't know squat about automatic transmissions and I had them rebuild it for me inside out. I do great with diag and pinpointing concerns to a degree, but again, automatic transmissions aren't my thing. I'm learning, though. Any way, my question is this. Does any one know about any company that makes quick shift solenoids or performance shift solenoids of any kind. I've been searching the net with no luck. I'm sure that IPT reused the OE solenoids and that's ok, but now I have solenoid issues and want to replace them with stronger and more responsive solenoids... unless there isn't a market for it... Any way, I hope some one knows a company. I'm going to Super Street to post this same message in hopes of clearng more ground. Wish me luck.

im lost on the facts about a rav 4. i do know that some people will do the 3s-gte swap from the celica all trac with its 5spd tranny. imo that would be the best route to go. more aftermarket parts for that engine.

I would assume they did for at least a few trannys.

If not, has you transmission ever been re mapped? Or have you had the shift points changed at all? That nay help,

Look up one for a tacoma an see if they have one in that year and if it will crossover to your tranny. might make the hunt a little easier. I was under the impression that they made aftermarket. solenoids and an such so it would be like a shift kit.
