Advice about dropping a small block into a tuner??

I currently goto school at Wyotech and, I was thinking that I wanted to buy a project car, either a 91 Toyota Celica or another 05 Mazda3 Hatch but I dont know which one I want to get because I want to try and throw a small block muscle engine into the engine compartment.... Now along with that I also don't know how this would work or what a better option for car would be but I know for a fact that I want it to be a tuner body/frame with a muscle engine!!! Thoughts and Advice please????

get whichever 1 is the cheapest. since you're just going to rip out the engine and drop in a small block there's not that much of a point sinking too much money into the car itself.

Now I dont care about money i want it to be an amazing first build you know.... Along with that i think it would be better to get a short block and just buy whatever is needed and put it together myself or just go crate and send it off to a machinest for bore ports stuff like that..... think that would be ideal or am i just being a stupid inexperienced gearhead
