Hey guys, im looking into a new car.  I have really been leaning towards a 2007 cobalt SS supercharged.  I would like some feedback on whether i should get one or not so help me out please.

Personally, I feel like the Cobalt has a worse stigma than the Civic, and for the same reason; a lot of people have done a lot of stupid things with them.  That being said, there are good Cobalts and Civics out there.  What has drawn you to the Cobalt?

the cobalt isnt super bad. i wouldnt own one. but dont get the supercharged version. they are lackluster in the power department. if you really like the cobalt, go for the cobalt ss tc(turbo charged) the tuboed versions actually keep up with me, the supercharged versions will get a jump on me, but by the end of first gear, ive already began to pull ahead and buy the end of the 1/8th mile, im a car length in head of it.

Im not exactly sure what drew me to them.  I like the look and from the reviews i have read,  people seem to really like them.  I never really looked into them until recently and saw that there actually in my price range if i can sell my current car, and thats pretty much how i became interested in them.

If i did get one, i would do the stage 2 upgrade for sure.  A new exhaust, Probably Megan Racing, and injen air intake.

After i save up of course.  Im only 17, so trying to fit work in with school and sports doesn't get me many hours so it would probably remain stock for a while.  What other cars would you suggest for under about $8000.

Idk about the used market in your area, but where I am you can get an early 2000's WRX for 6-8K.  That's what I would do.  Other than that, Early 350z's are a possibility.  Pretty much any mass produced 90's tuners.  If you get something less expensive, you can do more with it.

Yea there arent any wrx's around here.  I looked at 350z's and there to expensive and rear wheel drive and it snows alot here in iowa.  As for the 90's cars, i want something newer than that, i dont want to down grade in the luxury aspect, i just want a little power increase.  So i think im just going to stay with the cobalt SS for now unless something else pops up.  I was highly looking at 3g eclipses but then my freind bought one adn i dont want the same car so that rules that out.  Oh, i pretty much have a 3g eclipse anyways, i have a 2002 Chrylser Sebring LXI coupe.  Mitsubishi actually made it so it has the same 3.0L V6 as the eclipse.
