The motor thats in there needs tha rings replaced and just looks all to peaces cause it old and well looks ragged. So im wonting to replace tha motor. I have no idea what motor i wanna put in it but i wont to beable to stomp it a spin a wheel atleast. Does anybody have any good ideas far as what motor i should go with or what year model motors i should be shoppin for that will bolt right in? Thanks.

If you want to be period correct a Toyota R or T engine like the 2T or 20R would be appropriate and they should drop in no problem. Unfortunately engines like those are almost 30 years old so finding 1 in pristine condition might be a problem.
Something newer like a 3SGE or a 4AG could also work but I have no idea how hard or how easy they would be to put in.

since the 76 is a rwd and they hae a longer engine bay, i would also look into the 2jz-gte swap. that would be a mean swap. it may cost more, but you wouldnt get the power from any of those other swaps that you would get from the 2jz swap.
