this is all hypothetical XD
if 1 were to have a friend that was getting a new 3sgte for his 91 mr2 and wanted a bigger turbo, what would be a few good options?

maybe I should have also added a tad more information, the more I look at it, my question was very broad.
we're looking to spend only a little over 2grand on the new turbo + making it fit + dump + oil/water lines + intake and cooler pipes, we're expecting to have to do a lot of fabricating and *** to make a new 1 fit. What we want is like a 40-50hp+ gain, if not more, but I'm going to just assume that that's just being greedy.
what we don't want is something so strong thats going to just destroy the engine block everything..... leaving us w/ a giant tin can on wheels
so if any1 could possibly list off a few turbos they would consider as upgrades that won't be to costly, will provide the hp and tq we want, yet still be friendly
as always any help is greatly appreciated!

Lol sorry Rhino. What you need to know is how much boost is going to be applied by the new turbo and how much the stock internals can handle. A bigger turbo is not necessarily better either. While you can sometimes tune the boost on a smaller turbo up to make hp gains, getting a bigger might make the same, or more, gains, but there will be more turbo lag as well. If you haven't already, check out mr2oc.com. I'd almost guarantee that one of the guys there has done something similar to what you want.
