I have a 1993 Honda Civic Si(hatch). I always thought that the Si came with vtec 1.6 engine but there is no spec of vtec on the engine anywhere, I would figure being vtec would be displayed on the valve cover. Also another question I had was, is an EG just a Civic Hatch? I was always curious about that too, thanks for the info.

EG is the chassis code for 92 - 95 civics. Your car should have the D16Z6 engine which is a VTEC engine. The engine code is engraved in the block to the left of the headers.

I was thinking it was going to be the d16z6. I just ran outside and checked the block where you directed me, but I guess I am not looking in the right place. If there is a factory guard over the headers, would that block my view of the engraved engine ID? I have seen in photos the engraved ID before so I have an idea of what I am looking for, I guess just overlooking it. So as far as the EG goes, I am pumped because there are a lot of JDM parts for my car

And the name of the motor is un the middle of the engine block, on the left side, were the transmision and the block get together. Any question PM me.

Alright, I guess I'll have to knock some dirt off the block to see it. No luck on the vtec =/ bummer! Another question, for my car anyone got any ideas for cheap mods. Whether it be engine, interior, or exterior. Any feedback would be great, thanks!
