Engine swap to a 3S-GTE in Corolla or Celica? HELP

FIRST SCENARIO: I have a 2002 Toyota Corolla CE and its just a little 1.8L, I am thinking about turning it into a BIG project car by purchasing a 3S-GTE engine and doing a swap. I am pretty novice about tuning as it is. I am a hands-on learning like most tech guys and I am taking courses on automotive tech. at the moment as well, I am not anticipating this be a quick job or anything. My question is, If i find this engine with the transmission and all the hookups, ecu, etc. included. What else would I need to make this work? I understand the engine is a turbo so what controls or anything else would I need to make the Turbo work most accurately? Another question is, how difficult is it to convert an Automatic trans. to Manual? These questions are very dumb I know so just please give me all the information you have because I am in need of some!
SECOND SCENARIO: I am thinking about buying my brothers 91 Celica and possibly do the engine swap to put the 3S-GTE in the Celica. It is a 5-SPD already so I figured that would be the easisest because I only found that engine in 5-SPD, so there wouldnt be a need for a tranny swap to manual. It would basically be pretty similar either way bc the corolla and celica both have almost the same engine im pretty sure. Any input is greatly appreciated.

I am actually thinking about doing a 4A-GE instead of the 3S-GTE, figured id keep it in the lines of corolla haha. any takers on info?
