So I have been looking for a different car and i came upon a very nice Eclipse. It has a few little things added to the engine and some nice rims. The car has 100,000 on it but it looks like it has been very well maintained. So now to my question i really would like to buy this car but i have heard that there is a lot of problems with the car after 60,000 miles so i would like to know from u guys if this is true or should i go get the car? Thanks for the responses.

60,000 miles on any car can be tough. It always depends on how it was driven and maintained. Common things to look for are leaks, gasket conditions, spark plugs (they'll tell you a lot about the engine), CEL, abnormal noises. My old Eclipse, regular GS, had like 110,000 miles on it and it was still going strong and that's a freaking Chrysler engine. If it were me, I'd have a mechanic check it out. It may cost a few dollars, but the potential money and headaches saved is worth it.

My Talon has 150k and is still running strong on a full 12 pounds.  Only thing done was timing belt.  There's a bit of seepage at the valve cover, but that's expected for a 15yr old car.

My advice: use your judgment. You test drive for a reason.  Don't be afraid to look it down head to toe and walk away if you see something you don't like.
