I have had a Mazdaspeed6 for about 4 months now with a cold air intake and an HKS Blowoff valve. Ive raced it on the street, but i want to beef it up and make it a true tuner. Im new to the tuning scene, however, and need some advice for quick and easy horsepower gain.

new header, bigger turbo or TT setup. Def buy an exhaust. LSD and Anti roll bars will help. get a good turbo timer and upgrade your BOV/WGs

i feel ya. I JUST graduated and am starting college so im broke lol. A good exhaust possibly dual depends on what type, if its DIY or shop install. go to www.slowmotionmotorsports.com or www.ipsmotorsports.net for ideas on all of this stuff. im relatively new to tuning/modding cars too so i couldnt tell you how much really.. sorry bro. I do know that After an air intake, next is usually exhaust, then headers in terms of performance gain for price. I drive a 97 auto maxima so nothing good for tuning yet.. but my dad did fall into some money so hell probably give me close to 10k.. i think im buying a 240sx and swapping an (JDM) sr20det into it.. or a prelude or integra and swapping a H22A (JDM) motor. ill keep you updated on my project car if you let me know about what cars you beat and what your working on on it next.

TT setup isn't applicable to 4 cylinders engines, LSD isn't really needed, because of AWD, unless you plan on road racing, anti roll bars are for cornering. Turbo timers are for letting the turbo cool down after the engine is turned off, and BOVs don't make power, they relieve boost from causing compressor surge.
Your best bet is to get a bigger turbo, manual boost controller, possibly upgraded wastegate, upgrade the fuel system, upgrade intercooler, switch out to an aftermarket exhaust manifold, check out downpipes and cat back exhaust or go with a complete turbo-back exhaust. Lastly get a proper EMS along with a professional tune. Cost will probably be around 5K+. Unfortunately high hp tuning isn't cheap. =(
Unfortunately the Mazdaspeed6 doesn't have a huge aftermarket support, but there are a few companies out there that do make parts.
