hey im kagan (=
lol
well im really new to this site and to tuning cars so this is my first post on this site and im looking for a first car to buy.

im looking for a car i can work on alot and have for the rest of my life.. my budget is 16000 but i would rather buy a car for about 14000 so i can begin work on it right away.

i dont mind used cars but id rather have a car thats year 2003+.
... ive been looking at the 09 lancers because i really like the look they have but .... i just found out that they well .... kinda suck lol ... Ive been a fan of nissan 350z since they first came out so ive been looking up on them and have been thinking about the 03-05 models since there seems to be alot of mods available for them (= ..... oh and i like the look of the imprezas but to get a new one is really exspencive and well honestly i dont think the new ones look that great either...

honestly im just basing my judgment on looks since i barely know anything about engines and beformance etc.. (i wasnt exadurating when i said i was new to this stuff)

so if anyone read through all this you can see im in big need of guidence since i really dont know what im doing... if you can tell me what cars to start looking at and what years that would be a BIG help .... or give me links to good websites for me to read up and start to understand what im looking for would help too (=
THANK YOU sooo much all that read all this and thank you for your help (=

OH! OH! OH!
and if you have any tips and advice on problems i might come along as a beginer tuning cars or just in general pleez tell me that stuff too (=

Sounds to me like you pretty much know what you want. It's a shame you limit yourself so much be only choosing after 03'

I think the Lancer RalliArt is nice, but the WRX is probably better than both the 350 and Lancer.

Though if I had 16K available, i'd be looking for a Mark IV TT Supra but call me crazy

i guess i could go below 03 for somthing like a supra tt or rx-7 but the supra tt's seem like they're always like 20k and up .... atleast... if you know where i could find a 1993+ supra tt for under 20k pleez let me know and ill buy it easy lol but i just couldnt find any.... don't get me wrong, i would do anything for a 1993+ supra with tt (twin turbo ... hehe) but i just dont see it being able to fit my budget.... any other suggestions? Yeah the Mark iV will require a lot of digging, and a lot of disappointing finds, but they are out there for around $16k. The RX7 is awesome, but not nearly as good as the Supra.

I think a used WRX is a great start, especially if you like the Lancer (even though they don't look the same). The nice part about the WRX is that it's quick and handles fairly well as stock. The bad part is the fact that they are as common as a Civic

There are plenty of cars in that price range, it's hard to say what is actually better. For me, AWD Turbo is as good as it gets. As for the year, I have no idea what is best for the WRX.

i think its prolly gunna be the wrx then unless i find a good deal on a supra or a killer deal on another car. (=
any suggestions on where to start on the engine? i was thinking i would start off with a rad body kit and then some paint and rims to get me lookin good with my ride first .... i dont mean to be a ricer but.... hey what can i say... id like to look good and get the faster stuff done before i put major downtime and cash on the engine (=

Actually I see no problem with this, but only because the stock WRX performs well enough. HOWEVER, I stress that you not install unpainted body kits, if you want to do it, do it all at once. It's much better to buy the kit, save some more, then paint and install it. Nothing wrong with riding around with the stock body while you save up.

well in my opinion, you might wanna hold off on the body and piant, and focus on th begginer tuner mods (full exhuast, intake) and also a full service for oils belts hoses etc. starting off with body, paint and rims does sounds like a ricer car. but anyway ya do it good luck

lol i know not to put the kit on before the paint ... but i was going to get the car a new paint job anyways so i figured i wouldnt waste the money on getting the car and then the kit painted
i figured i would just install the kit the day before or the day of the painting... sound good? ... hmmm oh and another question btw... ive been looking at alot of 05 subaru wrx sti's and saw that i could prolly get a 03 lancer evo for the same price... wich do you guys think COULD be faster than the other after mods and such? .... and wich engine would be more user friendly to tune?

That's a tough one. If it were me, Evolution hands down. As far as acceleration, the Evolution should take it off the line, but I know the stock Evolutions have poor high end acceleration (from a 60mph roll for example).

Also, I can't imagine getting a body kit for the Evolution, it looks very aggressive as stock.

well i really like the lancer but it would add about 1k to the price (wich isnt that much of a problem) but i heard the wrx sti had really good hp and torque and a few easy cheap adjust ments boost its handling way up there too but idk im just really torn between the two ..... i think ill look them up alot more and try to figure out wich one i like more and then tell ya what i think (=
....most of what im basing my oppinions off of right now is from this link:
http://www.modified.com/tech/0407scc_evo_vs_sti/index.html

if you guys have any opinions to help me sway to one of them pleez speek up lol (=

oh and btw i looked at the lancer body kits and i like alot of the body kits they have ..... the place im mostly looking at shopping for car parts right now is:
http://www.andysautosport.com/

sooo ya anyone know about that site at all? if its good and such?
