ok heres the thing preludes are ok i have a 4gen h22a i mean yea pretty quick but if u wanna hang wit the big boys lol then u would have 2 resleve the sleves which u will end up spending about as much as u spent on the car jst on that plus they are heavy and if u boost it u would only be running around 8psi i rec 3000gt vr4 sub model if poss u would be whooping ass driving a stick is pretty simple youtube is ur friend lol i say get a 240 swap in a sr20 or an rb an its really game over i mean ur budget is 8 to 10 ppl say thats cheep hell give me 10gs go to autotrader craiglist u might can find u s2000 350 actually my buddy got a 350 for 10 im working on getting me a 240 i started off not knowing anything i mean anything i mean my daily is a 3g eclipse i mean its pretty as hell but as for the speed aspect hmmm naw but back to the prelude i mean they are not bad car but im jst saying for some serious power u would have to resleve it but swap in a h22 and u got somethin its a prelude running 700hp but thats on the model i have the 4g i dnt know much about the 5 and the 3 pm me if u got more questions

ok  if you like the idea of an AWD car and you are looking for a good import try looking for a used 02-03 Subaru WRX.  I have found them for anywhere from 5.5G to around 10G.  You just need to find a good one for a good price.  And dont buy Hondas.  They are cool for a beginner car but once you get into tuning and real driving the FWD honda platform sux.  Good luck with whatever you choose.
