Hello, I am a college student that has a 40 mile commute to the college i attend. I want a car that gets good MPG for as cheap as possible, but can't find any MPG lists of older cars there all 2009 cars. Ive found diffrent cars such as geo metros, suzuki swifts, and diesel vw's that get around 40 mpg or better. I am looking for any help or ideas on the topic you can offer. thank you,and any help is greatly appreciated

i dont know were your looking but if you google any car for any year it ussualy will send you to sites that have all the specs on them. unless its older then thirty years or something. but as for new cars that i know of, there are alot. like handa and toyota are in big competition with each other on that but dont even touch the 40 mpg range. so if you want that kind of efficiency you need to go with the vw deisles

i'd go for the metro. i mean its a pice of *** micro compact but it'll be a *** lot cheaper then the prius or insight. priui (plural for prius) usually go for about 10k used, which is out of the budget for many let alone a college student. insight im gonna guess starts at about 25k, so no. just look in local car listing on craigslist and such for cars that have "good mpg!" or "gas saver!" under them. then look up the mpg of those cars to be sure if you want.
