avenger engine swap...

is it even possible to put a 4G63t into a 97 dodge avenger es with a 2.5L v6 already in it... my motor has alot of miles and has ran amazing up until recently its just hit a wall... and i want to supe my car up and get it quick as hell... i have it lookin like a racer now i need the motor... im open to suggestion on any type of engine swap for it i just need to know whats possible and what can be done to make my car run like a champ... better than any avenger out there is my goal...

instead of the 4g63t you should pick up the 6g72tt or the 6g74. those would be your best choices for that car

i heard you had to cut and fabricate the body and such for those to fit because of the the turbo mounts and all the stuff that goes with it... and i really dont have the money for that id like to just be able to swap some parts and drop it in... do you know anything about having to cut and gut under the hood for those two?

your car is a v6, so the v6 should fit in there well. you will have a harder time putting in the 4g63t then the 6g72 or 6g74

Yea except the 6g72 is a 3.0l motor in the 3000gt vr4 and the v6 in his avenger was a 2.5l as the OP stated. Could still be two entirely different motors for all we know.
I know next to nothing about Avengers, but speaking purely from other peoples experiences, if the motor didnt come stock with the car, which in your case a 3.0vr4 motor did not, than most likely there is going to involve a lot of custom fabrication and welding in different motor mounts to get it to fit, it may not even be possible.
If you wanted to go fast, I would of recommended buying an Eclipse GSX or Talon TSI AWD in the first place, since those already come with AWD drivetrains and a 4g63t motor in them.

I know someone with the 6g72tt in a Stratus, not sure how similar the two engine bays are, though.

the avenger and the stratus are the same car, but the avenger is a 2dr version.

Verified with him that it was a relatively easy swap. Only some minor fabrication to get the exhaust to fit properly. Good luck if you try it, hope it's as simple as he makes it sound!

oh yeah hey man can you ask him if the motor is for a 93 - 96 mitzu and what year his stratus is...

Isn't the Avenger the same as a 3000GT. If it is the motor should fit.
