I got a 95' eclipse and im wanting to make it faster, right now all i have on it is a Greedy exhaust system and an intemidator intake. Those two things came with the car when i bought it. What all could i put into it to make it faster? Also is it true if i put a turbo on the regular stock motor that i would blow the piston, and what year talon or other eclipse can i get parts off of? Looking for any suggestions, thanks!

The 2nd gen Eclipses N/T use a 420A engine, while the turbo models use the venerable 4G63 engine. Your best bet is to rebuild the motor since you most likely have high mileage, check howellautomotive.com for parts, and pick up a turbo kit from Hahn Racecraft.

You can make anything "faster" since faster is a relative term. Technically I made my 116hp Miata "faster" by adding a high flow cat and probably increasing its hp to 117hp which was barely noticeable.

But if your looking to be fast, your best bet is to get a for sale sign for the 420a eclipse. The only eclipses that can easily be made "fast" are AWD Eclipse GSX's 90-99 and Talon TSI AWD's 90-99 and Plymouth Laser RS's 90-94. Take it from me from someone whos brother owned a Eclipse GS with a 420a and a Eclipse GST, the FWD NA and FWD Turbo Eclipses will never be "fast" when it comes to quartermile racing.
