Hey everyone,
over the course of the next year i will be getting a new car, i was debating between the 2006 350z and 2007 mustang gt. everywhere you go people diss the Z and praise the stang. everyone talks about how stangs crush Z's. this is why i went to an import tuner website. i wanted to get to know some information from the side that praise the Z and diss the stang. so let me have it. why should i get a z over a stang, which one car corner faster. remember this will be an everyday car not something i can put 40 g's into. so which would be better for everyday use and why. i like the tuner look and the fast turning more than raw speed, but i also like nice exhausts and who doesn't like to go fast. so try your hardest to sell it to me. thanks

oh yeah...also considering an rx-8

they have the same bhp, but the mustang has more tq. they run around the same time on the 1/4. the main dif between these two cars is one is usdm and the other is jdm.

nissan 350z

3.5 L (210 cu in) VQ35DE RevUp V6 300 bhp 260 ft·lb

ford mustang
2007

Here's another thing I was thinking about. My friend has a mercedes and it seems effortless for everyday driving. whereas some people say you have to wind up some cars to get them moving. Will one have this effortless effect over the other?

Wind up? The only thing I can assume this is referring to is HP and Torque. Both the Z and Mustang should not have this problem. Their powerband should be pretty wide.

Also considering rx8. What do you think of that

My opinion towards the RX8 is similar to the 350z, it's very very unattractive. I don't know too much about the performance, but I am certain that the 350z and Mustang would crush it in this department. Keep in mind, the RX8 is a naturally aspirated rotary. If I recall correctly, it only has a good amount of power at high RPM and has low torque. It's just not an RX7, even with a more efficient rotary engine. The chassis should provide good handling tho, but I have no experience with it.

mazda rx-8
6-speed manual "High Power" with a claimed output of between 228 hp and 247 tq at 9,000 rpm redline.

the big bonus on the rotary is that it can take a load of harrasment. they are easily turboed. the huge negative for the rotary is that only specially trained rotary mechanics can work on the engine, and it cost a fortune to get work done on them.

9 friggin grand, that's talkin about winding up! True tho, that motor will take a turbo easily. Mazda should have produced a version of the car with a Turbo.

I would get the Rx8. Nothing like 9,000 Rpms.

the high rpms are nice but i want something that will go fast as well and it seems like the z and mustang would smoke it on the road. i wouldn't be able to do any turbo kits unless it came with the car. if the only way to make an rx8 good is to turbo it then i guess it's out of the question. if the car is fast though then maybe it's still to be considered.

would it be possible to get the z to be faster than a stang easily or does it take a lot of work and money to make it better?

the 350z runs with the mustang. standard bolt ons should give it a little edge against the mustang.

when it comes to mustangs i'd say its the better choice. there are so many companies and manufactures that make so many custome parts for them. in the long run if you want to improve and just repaire the mustang is the way to go. but i do love those 350z's.

ok from what you've said, i would suggest the z. you can get a 2006 used model for under 18 grand, and you said you wanted the tuner look, which is the 350z. you can put a aftermarket exhaust on it for the sound you want. also, from what i've heard, the rx-8 has about 15 mph, and you said you needed a daily driver so it's out of the question (if what i've heard is correct). conclusion: 350z.
