leave it alone. that is a nice car, so just drive it. if you wait till you can buy an actual import then start the tunin process. finish college. dont worry about goin fast. get a good job and save up your money for a tuner of your choice.

I more or less new to turners but am a Apprentice heavy duty mechanic. I would say put in a ram air or cold air intake, a new exhaust system be your best bet for a simple and fast way to make more hp. to make it faster make it lighter simple things new seats lighter ones but it’s a bit expense plus you going to collage. Really anything you could take out of it would help and put it into it to make it lighter like a new fibreglass or carbon fibre hoods. that’s about all I think of right now.

the best way to learn is to go hands on, but goin hands on on a fusion will only make you into a ricer. do you work? do you pay for your tuition? if you work and dont pay for your tuition, then i suggest you save up some money and purchase you a civic or a 1g eclipse gs or a s13 240sx. all those cars should only cost you 4000 and less. the most expensive one in the bunch is the 240sx.
if you really want, you can try to find a cai, get a catback exhaust, and some headers on it. there is not a good aftermarket for the fusion. i dont know if you can find a real cai or headers for that car. dont get me wrong, the fusion is a nice dd, but not a good tunin platform.

As far as you wanting to get an actual import you should look at the price sheet on the Fusion under parts content. The Ford Fusions domestic parts content is only 30% which is wayyyyy under what the EPA classifies at a domestic vehicle which by the way is 75%. Your best bet for looking for parts would be under the first generation Mazda 6 which Ford doesn't hide that it's based on. I was working for Ford the first year the fusion came out and there was springs, exhaust, body kits and other things already available. I know because we were installing them. We also had a Mazda dealer down the street and some of there customers were are customers also and when a Mazda 6 and a Fusion was in the air you couldn't tell the difference accept for where some of the emissions components where located on the Fusion. Everything you want is already out there. The first two places on the net I looked while writing this had everything you need to start. Try Andy's auto sport and just go from there. Good luck on your "Tuner Fusion".

Ford is doing much better than GM and Chrystler. I don't think Ford will go under.

ford has denied all three bailout offers. as of the 2008 consensus, ford was the #3 top seller last year under nissan and honda. and as of 1st quarter sales ford is already up by 16% from last years 1st quarter. i like fords and know that they are really good family cars. my parents have owned fords for the past 20yrs. with an occasional nissan and honda thrown in the mix. i have owned 2 fords and besides my eclilpse they were my favorite cars.

I hear that. A lot of people hate on the Fords. And while Chevy used to have much higher quality (and the Corvette is an amazing machine), Ford has just been much smarter in the last decade. The new mustang was a good direction and I think helped them out a lot.
