I just wanted to clear the air. I know some people on this website think that rear wheel drive is better.  I find that with a properly tuned suspension that even a front wheel drive set up can handle with the best of them and even surpass perfectly balanced rear wheel drive cars.

remember that night you crashed and hit the jetta, i found the video of it.

Not one of RWD cars was turbocharged. No where do I recommend that anyone buys an NA 4cylinder over one that is turbo'd and AWD/RWD. It could be explained simply by a power to weight advantage rather than FWD being "better". The only thing FWD is "better" at is fuel economy and low speed turns.

Its  a mystery that Ferrari or Lamborghini doesnt use FWD on their cars if it was such a race worthy drivetrain.

Clearly the MRWD NSX isn't Honda's top of the line model, due to their MRWD status, yet they seem to enter that car into JGTC over FWD Civics.

^^ Honda s2000's are slow as *** Miata's are rwd also. Still as slow as *** As scrotum said.. Not forced induction which is what me and him both promote. Now i will say i have seen some extremely nasty turbo rsx's. 450hp DD on top of that.  But that vid didnt say much. Ive smoked s2k's and miatas , NA rwd etc my fair shair of times.

In most cases FWD,RWD, AWD it all comes down to driver in the end. With equal drivers though... You would see an apparent winner.

I've seen that MR2 video before. That is what happens when inexperienced fools think they are racecar drivers. He thought he would be cool and now he just looks like a moron. Mid engine RWD cars are not for amatures.

I want that Mugen RR more than anything. They have a new Mugen RR Advanced Concept that is all carbon fiber (roof, trunk, front clip) and is bored out to 2.2 making 260ps that is so awesome.

scrotum prolly does have a few screen names.
are you claiming rwd are better in general or in your case. in general you right.
cause i believe your car is fast and handles well, especially better than my civic.
but you have to figure in down time, i see that red (or green back in the day) always sitting in a driveway somewhere and never driving. While my slow, non-handling civic runs all year, every year.

lol...just messing w/u james

actually, ive ran a 13.2 in a crx with the sun and windows open. correct me if im wrong but thats a natuned fwd that runs the 1/4 mile faster then your heavily boosted car. my fastest 1/4 mile time is 8.761 in my dads twin carberated supercharged chevy belair 2dr.

You had to rebuild the motor to run that time. My motor is bone stock but for a few bolt ons.

So basically what your getting at is, if you can afford a $5000 motor rebuild, only THEN can you run 13.2 in the quarter with a FWD car.

Ok if FWD is SOOO GREAT, how come all the fastest cars from the factory arent FWD? Nissan Skyline = AWD
FD RX7 = FRWD
MR2 Turbo = MRWD
NSX = MRWD
Supra Twin Turbo = FRWD
Ferrari F40 = MRWD
Porsche GT2 = RRWD

Etc. etc. Its because FWD is an inferior drivetrain setup for racing on whether you like to admit it or not, other wise manufacturers of fast cars wouldnt be choosing RWD and AWD over FWD.

The point is FWD can hold its own on a track.

Yea, Im just saying, its a mystery that so many super car manufacturers never use FWD when building a fast car. FWD only holds its own against other cars when it holds a power to weight advantage, if the s2000 had been turbocharged and built for boost, it would of owned face at the track and the civics would of been left in the dust.

actually, no, i didnt have to add anything to that motor. it was a jdm b18c1 gsr. it came straight from japan with 327bhp for only $4000.

you spent $5000 on your turboed jdm motor that only had 240bhp. then you spent more money on a upgraded turbo kit so you can reach 303hp and can only run a 1/4 in 13.3. thats just sad.

the whole point to are argument is that its cheaper to upgrade our fwd cars and make them smoke your supposed baddest cars from the factory.

in your list, lets go over some of those cars.
the twin turbo supra. one of the most overrated cars ever. the car weighs nearly 4000lbs and doesnt even push 300bhp. wow, thats a badass car.

the nsx is a pos that honda ditched cause noone was buying it. the suspension on it was cheaply throne together and the car suffered heavily from rear body sway.

and last and least, the mr2 turbo. that pos cant be in that list. that pos car is slow and has no chance against the likes of a ferrari or a porche gt2. the only reason you car is semi quick is because its a piece of plastic rapped around a turboed engine.
