I just bought an eclipse spyder gs that was convertible that I wanted to tune a bit.  Unfortunately the top needs to be replaced, badly.  The local shop here told me it would cost me $1800 to replace the top.  Is it worth it to replace it and tune this engine (4g64) or should I cut my losses and attempt to sell this car and get a hardtop?  Getting a hardtop isn't going to be easy though, because of the are I live in.

hey i dont know if you still have the car but you can buy rebuilt heads on ebay for like $500 and if your any good with a wrench do it yourself.... buy new head bolts as well so youll get no leaks they head bolts are stretch bolts and should only be used once.

go to car-part.com there is tops there cheap. u can add a 4g63 head to your 2.4 an do a little more to the engine, an add a turbo. there is a book at books a million to tell u what to do.in the transportation section.
