for detailed info you would prolly have to talk to someone at RSR... rhys millens shop.  theyre the ones who made the red evo in tokyo drift.  why are you scrapping the AWD?

Why would you ruin the EVO's perfectly decent AWD system to make it RWD?  Please don't tell me it's so you can jump on the trendy drifting bandwagon?

If that's the case, sell your car and replace it with a beater 240sx or similar.  You don't deserve to be driving an EVO.

Is somebody watching too  much Tokyo Drift =). It's not as easy making an EVO into a RWD. EVOs and STi operate on a front-biased AWD system, whereas a Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 operates on a rear-biased AWD system. For the R34, and possibly R33s and R32s, all you have to do is pull a fuse to disable the AWD and convert it to RWD. I believe for the EVO you would have to change the whole drivetrain. I think the extra features on Tokyo Drift explains how they converted it.

Or you could check out the July 2006 issue of Sport Compact Car magazine.  They go over the RWD EVO Rhys Millen modified for Tokyo Drift.  Leave it to SCC to come through.

Then again, you probably don't need any encouragement here.  Like I said, just sell the car and buy something that was designed to be RWD.

Too bad SCC had to go. They had a great deal of information in that mag.

But yeah I really don't know why he would want to convert it to RWD, other than trying to drift it for some unknown reason, but hey its his car and he's free to do whatever he wants to do to it. =) Its quite obviously he's not very experienced with cars so gotta try to offer help where we can.
