First of all thats not true at all, the Indians cant take privately owned land and declare it to be an Indian reservation. They were forced into Oklahoma, not asked nicely to live there.

Because the earth is MUCH older than creationism leads you to beleive. Creationism leads you to beleive the human population is only 5000 or so years old, when in fact the first humans first came about 250,000 years ago. In that time frame and through thousands of generations, there has been significant evolving between our human species and monkeys to the point that we cant cross-breed with a different species because our species have evolved into two very different variations that dont share enough common traits with each other.

One obvious example of evolution is all the different colors and variations of sizes in the dog. Originally it came from wolves, now theres hundreds of different breeds of dogs through several thousands of years of evolution, and there always coming out with new breeds of dogs through cross-breeding Not some supreme being that makes all the different breeds of dogs on the spot. You couldnt cross breed a chihuaha with a St.bernard due to the variation in sizes from differnt cross breeding, yet their still the same species.

I would be apt to tell you that most Americans are weak minded fools that use their religion as a crutch to base their beleifs off of without any factual based proof.  My personal religious beleifs is in the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
