No because your car never came with a stock k20, apples to oranges my friend.
My model of MR2 came stock with a 3rd gen 3sgte, after the motor seized up in my car the motor from another MR2 was bought and bolted into the stock chassis of my car, no welding of motor mounts or huge fabrication required.
It would be like your Honda civic having another b16a put in after its motor blew up, not really an engine swap since its reusing a stock motor from another civic from the factory. But the main difference is my car would still be faster.
Oh and you wanna talk upgraded injectors, I havent even gotten around to it, but 800cc injectors plug into my stock fuel rail, no boring or anything required, thats because Toyota intended my motor to make a lot more hp than it came with from the factory.

oh lordy u guys just stfu up.yall are both kinda right.to me anyways.see to me sirscr0tum1 ur car is stock to a certain point.because u used a motor from differ yr but same model. that would be the same as swapping an old b16 from another yr car with a b16 from japan to urs basically still stock.even though its from japan the car market is still the same.but thes urs aint stock anymore because u have a bolt on turbo and intercooler.

i mostly agree but once you swap the motor its not stock, especially not when you can't get the mototr in your car.

oh my god, ok just give it up all ready, any motor placed in car that is not an original motor for the car and model and year its a swap, period. thats all, sirscrotum, you did a motor swap. i have a 72 pontiac lemans, it has a 350, if i put in a 400 from another lemans its a swap, or i could bore it put to a 400 and keep it stock, when you replace the motor with another motor other then the original intended motor from the factory, its a motor swap and your car is no longer all stock.
please guys, and i mean everyone, just stop about this, he did a motor swap, the end, he can believe its not, but whatever, its a swap. have fun ya'll =D

Its still a stock MR2 motor though that is virtually unmodified. Yes cars that are 17 years old require new motors after so much use, and Im using a stock MR2 motor from one from Japan. So Yes I agree with you that I am using OEM equipment from another MR2 in my MR2.

well its settled then, thankfully. i dont know if you can call swaps by degrees such as putting a chevy 350 into a honda, which would be uber-drastic, but if so, you did the swap that was as close to a "stock motor swap" there is i would say.
you chose a motor from a newer car, BUT of the same make and model, so its a swap, but like you said OEM. its not like trying to but another JDM motor like an h22 or rb26, etc. or the drastic swap of a domestic muscle engine, but your close to stock as far as a swap could go. well done =D
(i hope i make sense)

no it doesn't. if a motor was never an option for your car, its not stock. its not even close. if you can't buy the motor in the car from the dealer how is it stock???

to answer the original question...rsx-s are pieces of *** SI and rsx-s are pretty close to the same thing, SRT-4...well its a dodge and a neon. if i had one word of advice for dodge it would be to stick to trucks. all of the previous cars are also front wheel drive...that explains itself. 350z is the only descent option on here, its rear wheel drive and they have good after market support. so go with the 350z

the 350z is good, but it has a cramped engine bay, which makes it harder and more technical because you have to unistall compnents in order to install something else.

well theres nothing wrong with fwd. i would go with the si because its like half the price of others and has the k20. i think this is a really old thread though so it doesn't really matter

it may be old, but we still talk and learn, but whatever, how much hp does the si have? and is it true that once you max out on the stock motor you have to rebuild or iron-sleeve it, or is that the same thing?

FWD is a good learning platform, but once you go RWD, it's hard to go back. Torque steer and cv woes suck.
