Eclipse GST or GSX?

Hey guys, I was just watching some great drifting videos from Japan, and all I see is S13's, 240's, AE86's, etc. As mush as these cars are cool, I just have a fetish for Eclipses. So I wonder, can a Gst or a Gsx; in general a RWD or a AWD can be in the same topic as drift cars?

not really sure what you mean but the gst can't, its fwd and the gsx could if you get it to be rwd  

if you can figure out a mod for the gsx trans to block off the front driveshafts, and beef up the rear driveline then yes, the clipse could be turned into a drifter, but your much more likelyt to break things due to the horizontal mount engine, thats why the big drift cars are all longitudinal

no eclipse is rwd, this is how God wants it. leave it that way.

lol, making an eclipse rwd is kinda pointless. if you get a GSX i would keep it AWD and get into autox or something. GSXs are sick for tracks and drag.

I understand, I dont mind leaving it the way it is, but I was thinking a new concept; something out of the box. It would be cool though.

For the record, only 1 other person has done an AWD conversion on a 3rd gen eclipse. I would bet $20 that his AWD 3rd gen eclipse never gets completed.  

ill take that bet. people also said that i cant make a 13sec honda. people also said that i couldnt make a chevy tracker into a drift machine.

ive done the latter two. looks like the bets in my field.

You right Godfather, who are people to judge my unique vision and shot it down. I want to build a car that defines me. By God, if people dont like the idea of me taking a 99 eclipse GSX and turnin to a drift car, and take over; Im gonna do it damn it. Image, a Brooklyn kid from Flatbush drifting and kickin ass. Not only that, people might have a poster of me on their garage wall...(lol)  Its just that people are afraid to push the limits to ideas, and to think out of the box. Thanks Godfather for enlightenment...

your welcome. i have always said that you can do what you put your mind to do. now if i think its absolutly ridiculous, ill tell you. ive done some crazy crap myself. i built a 96 chevy tracker drifter. i built it cause it was the only car i had and i wanted a drifter.
