try looking at camshafts or the whole valvetrain kit. If you really want the best bang for the buck, you can go turbo, but there is more work into turbo than there is to going all motor.

Supercharge it.
Jackson racing makes a pretty descent and cheap one too...

A racing clutch will not make your car faster so I would opt out for that. You could get Kpro, but to get the best bang for the buck, you're going to need to go F/I.

alright. F/I stands for Forced Induction; turbocharged, supercharged, and or Nitrous Oxide. So being your situation, I'd say look somewhere else in the car. Look Under-Under The suspension can make any car faster either in a straight line or on the Auto-X track. Let's put the margin at a steady 2K...
2002-2005 Acura RSX - Eibach Coil Over Kit - Pro Street - Stainless Steel --$1,500
205/55R16 Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec--$400
with shipping that's a good $2,000
You can change the ride height (though I recommend no more than 1.4 inches) increase the stiffness of the shocks and with some sticky rubber cut your launch, cornering, and your speed ailments...
Remember that without the correct suspension tuning or setup even the most powerful of cars is just garbage...

Master_Shake029 - yes. i was thinking about putting in some nitrous. i would basically do the same thing that the turbo would do but a lot cheaper for my car. i know that everybody thinks that NOS is bad for your car but not necessaraly. i read in a magazine that nos gets a bad name because of people trying to do too much of a shot for their engines, or that the reason things broke is because of a bad tune when intalling the NOS. so im definately thinking about nos too.

To me there is no easy way of making an RSX fast without dumping in between 10-15k under the hood.
The car comes with a weak aluminum block, an inferior open differential transmission, there Naturally aspirated 4cylinder and also has the draw backs of being FWD when launching.
This should automatically tell you that it is not an ideal platform at all to be building off of if your trying to be "fast".
The only way to make your car "fast" is to basically upgrade and replace most every component under the hood of the motor, sleeve your block with iron, add a $3500 turbokit, a different ecu, MUCH larger injectors (you know your car is slow when 310cc injectors is considered an UPGRADE) and adding an LSD and slicks.
Too much hastle to make the car fast IMO. I talked to an RSX tuner once, I noticed he had taken it to the track. I asked him what he ran, he said 15.1@88mph. In case you did not know, that time garners no respect in the world of tuning, especially when you compare it to my car.
My car runs low 13's from the factory before dropping a dime into it. My car is MRWD so when I launch all my weight shifts ONTO my drive wheels, not away from them, allowing for more grip and less spin, my car comes stock with a turbocharger so I can easily up the boost and pull in lots more air than your motor can. My car comes stock with 540cc injectors, which are more than 2x the size of an RSX's stock injectors, so I have a lot more fuel to make hp with. How much did this car set me back? $6500, and it already ran 12's with the first $400 in mods done to it.
If your looking to be fast, I recommend selling the RSX and buying a car that isnt FWD, and isnt a naturally aspirated 4cylinder with an open diff. transmission.

If you plan to install NOS, you're going to need some sort of Engine Management System to tune your car. While you're at it you might as well get a header to finish your basic bolt-ons and get them tuned all at once.

nos cant ever be "good" for you engine. it might do less harm to an engine than most people say, but it still isnt good for your car. any time you mod your car so that it runs faster or harder than it was originally meant to, then its gonna give in someplace after a while. nos is especially harsh on an engine because it makes it run quite a bit hotter, wich will inharently make parts weaker as they heat up, but also at the same time, since it is running hotter putting out more power, it will run faster which will put even more stress on the parts that were already weakened bacause of the excessive heat. the same thing is essentially true for a turbo charger or supercharger, but they run so much cooler than nos that it wont hurt your car, but in all truth it wont last as long as a NA car. so basically my point is, dont put nos in your car, cause it IS bad for it and it only makes it faster for a few moments. if you invest in other parts they make it faster all the time, not just until your bottle runs out.

oh and back to the original question... sirscr0tum is right, they arent the best engine or cars on the market as far a platforms go. so what i would suggest is try to lighten your car up. start throwin carbon fiber on your car, like hood, truck, roof, doors. watever you can to lighten it up. since the rsx is a fairly popular car there is a bit of aftermarket parts like this so you should have a large selection. i know making your car lighter isnt quite as funas putting 20 more hp on, but you have to remember that less weight does make your car a good bit faster. point and case...the lotus elise, it only has 189 horses but it weighs less than 2000lbs. this makes it a very potent car wich could blow the doors off most of the cars on this forum(i did say MOST so dont every one start harrasing me about how they beat the little old grandmother driving thier son's lotus around town). so thats my advice...put your car on a diet and see what happens
