The Honda civic Ferio is/was supposeable the AWD version of the civic that honda made? Does anyone know if i can get one in the U.S. or even if they ever made it to the U.S. Does anyone know how strong the drivetrain and driveline are on this kind of car? In other words would it hold up in high horsepower or would i have to replace everything? How does the engine and drivetrain work- is it more like an evo or an sti or is it not like either?

Well according to Wiki, the Honda Civic Ferio was the name for the 5th/6th gen sedan in Japan. I don't think Honda has even made an awd anything until recently with the sh-awd system. If Honda had really made a awd Civic, I think a lot more people would have one.

Ok if there was really an awd version of a Honda Civic from the factory, don't you think there would be a whole lot more people running around with awd Civics? And wouldn't there be awd Civics tearing up all the racetracks? It would be nice if there really was an awd civic, but I highly doubt it. You could possibly mod one to fit rh-awd, but that would be a challenge.

the fiero is a pontiac. if there was a awd civic then they could use the civic for driftin. but they cant use the civic. besides, u cant trust wikipedia. anybody can put anything on wikipedia. also i just looked at that honda-tech site and they have nothin there about an awd honda fiero. the only special civics that had a different name are the crx and the delsol.

Well I looked at other websites too and they do mention a Civic Ferio, not fiero. Unfortunately most of the sites are vague at best. Wiki was the only site that had some decent info. Oh yeah, AWD is no bueno for drifting. RWD is the only way to go for drifting. Most if not all the Skylines, Evos, WRXs/Stis are converted to RWD.

AWD can* drift.... it just has to be a low traction situation, ie gravel, sand, snow, etc. have to say thats some fun lol. (daily driver is a 4wd truck, so i have plenty o fun in the winter)

Lol. You got me there. Ok AWDs can drift/powerslide, in rally-like conditions, but on asphalt/street/normal conditions its much harder to drift with awd =p.

no what i was talkin about. the scion tc is fwd but there is a drift car in the dseries. they have an awd version in japan under a different name. if there was a production awd civic dont you think they would have one in the d series, or even rally.

If you're talking about the RSR Scion TC that drifts in Formula D, it uses a AWD subframe from an older Toyota Caldina, but its still converted to RWD.

Honda did offer a Realtime AWD version of the Civic Sedan (Ferio).
4WD Civic's were something like a D16ZC (DOHC).
Civic Ferio RTSi (Realtime 4WD) 1.6 DOHC ZC
Civic Ferio RTX (Realtime 4WD) 1.6 Dual Carb
Im actually getting ready to purchase one here pretty soon to save on gas and still be able to head up to the snow and do some snowboarding and not need chains. My only trouble im worried about is getting it registered and everything out here in California with our smog laws. I've never seen an AWD smog station, so i'll just have to see.
So to all who dont believe they exist, well... they do.

I got one Civic Ferio 1994, I got one 4th gen sedan 4WD and one 1991 Shuttle too... So the Ferio exists, do you want pictures or something?
