Mazdaspeed 3 is pretty good. Subaru WRXs are good as well. Yup that's all I can think of under 30k. If it were me, I'd still choose the Civic, then probably the wrx, then mazdaspeed 3. But hey I'm a honda guy. =)

I have an 06 si. This is my first honda, and I can feel like I have gotten sucked into the Honda world. You know how I know that? I will pick an S2000 over an sti or evo.

ok, lets see. im just gonna make a list (a giant one). this rly blows me away how ignorant (no offense) ppl sound on here. anyway... here goes >
sounds like u want sumthin brand new...
-350z -wrx (ya ya ya... eh) -evo -eclipse gt (recommended, since u dont sound very educated in this field) -rx8 (dont know about the rotaries tho ![]() -s2000 ( personally i dont like convertibles ) -mx5 ( convertible once again )
the new civics look EXTREMELY dorky. but if thats what u like then knock urself out
have fun with that

dont go anything but a wrx. people don't go witht hem because of the soul reason that they can't handle them. If you're smart you'll go with an '07 wrx. save up, stage three, and become a civic beater. BEATER SON!

IMO, WRX's and Evo's are rather overblown. I know im gonna catch alot of flak for that, but i dont really see what the deal is with them. Compared to other brand spankin new cars out, yeah, theyre king of the mountain. But early 90's, there would be a TON of stiff competition. FD rx7, 240sx, supra, mr2 turbo, 300zx, porsche 944, eclipse/talon just on the import side of the coin. Domestics had all of the classic long running cars; mustang, camaro, firebird/trans am, vette and a whole slew of cars that can compete with the new wrx's and evo's for alot less *** Plus i cant stand the way they look. Too boxy, you youldnt even be able to tell its meant to be a sports car save for the rediculous wings they put on em. not to mention that theyre wired up the ass with computers, sensors, and so many damn things to go wrong, in order to figure out why ur CEL is on, you need a masters from MIT.
Im done ranting now. After reading that i keep thinking to myself how old im getting. Next thing i know ill be yelling "get off my lawn your damn kids!".

Plus the new Evo weighs like 3800 pounds I think. Some kid at my school got an Evo X MR from his Mommy and Daddy... It really pisses me off.

well definately don't get the new evo, their slow as hell, but the wrx is a great car. theres a guy in my town that got one imediately after the redesigned one came out and its got like 700hp and kills EVERYTHING

holy *** ive never seen a stock wrx push that power. although i know that with an upgraded turbo you can easil hit 350hp. the stock intervals are rated to push 500hp.

i heard/read that the evo 9 and a few earlier are better, but i believe it was the evo 9 that rated almost the same as the evo X in the article, i would probably get an older gen evo, 7,8 or 9, ill think about the X
the mazda speed 3 is a good car, it has 276 hp i think in the stock turbo'd 4 banger, the wrx has a little more, closer to 300, and same with the evos
