Hey guys, i just recently picked up a 94 Prelude S (not the VTEC). Its got an aftermarket exhaust and rims, thats about it... Im really taking a liking to the car(bought it as a temp car off a buddy for 1200) but now I want to tune it up. I've never really gotten into doing anything on my cars or anything like that. So I was wondering where I should start. Money is somewhat tight so it would be a somewhat slow building process. I want to get something that has some decent power. Is the engine on the S series worth doing anything to or should I just look into saving up a new engine?
Thanks

I would swap the motor for a K20 and supercharge it with a Jackson Racing blower. The cheaper route would be to drop a H22 from a VTEC Prelude into your car, and supercharge it.

what would be a good price for one of the the H22s? im seeing anywhere from 800(engine only) to 2500 engine + transmission. If I dont have a VTEC do i need the transmission for it?

you can pick them up at a junk yard for cheap. youll need to replace the innerds. if you build for low compression you could esily turbo the car. dont supercharge a 4cyl. a supercharger gives low end boost, a turbo gives you high end boost. 4cyls have plenty of power in low rpms.

if you stick with the h22 you wont. but if you get a k20 youll need to get the tranny with it.
