I can't convince my friends that JDM rides are way better then Ferraris and Lamborghinis. I showed them an R35 and they said, " Look at that Ferrari!" Help??

Slap them and explain brand isnt everything.  I drive a toyota that can outbrake a ferrarri 360 and has the same skid pad as a ferrari f40.  Matter of fact the only reason people buy ferraris in the first place is cuz its alot more impressive when you say "yea, i drive a ferrari" than it is when you say "i drive a toyota".  That and paying 3 grand to have a brake job done is insane.  Even if i could afford one i wouldnt buy one.

Personally I'm more of a fan of European cars than Japanese, (call it a Pepsi/Coke thing) but that's after watching a couple of seasons of Top Gear. JDM's are not better than European cars though. In fact if you follow its origins Japanese cars copy if not get some inspiration from European cars at a fraction of the price, but still offer the same if not better quality of work and reliability. I'm by no means discounting Japanese cars. The Civic Type R is fun as hell, but I'd pick the Focus ST. Though I'd die for a Subaru WRX....Second to a Lamborghini Miura, or a 60's Aston Vantage...

Brand loyalties belong to the days when there were only 3 car companies in this country. If you like a car now you have...I don't know 8 so pick what you want if you like JDM's then you like JDM's and tell everyone to S.T.F.U.

If I'd bought a Ferrari I'd come back to the dealership in a couple of weeks and tell them, "Can you fix this?: The suspension's shot, the tires are bald, one of the rims is bent, there's this scrape from end to end on the passenger side when I hit the wa...I mean a badger, and the front drivers side of the bumper is broken when I nudged a Porsche 911 Turbo....Oh and a couple of champagne stains on the paint; Don't ask me how......And my dog threw up inside.... " (Hand him the keys and leave)

Trust me im not discounting euro's at all. I just prefer a cheaper car.  I am a big fan of the euro super cars, its just that theyre so Friggin expensive its not even funny.  Once i finish my challenger project, im plannin on taking a 300zx and converting the body to a 575 maranello.  Its just that for the cost of most of em, you can get a JDM car modded to kingdom come that can compete with them. Dont get me wrong i would love to own a 360, or a 911 turbo. But with my driving record, Id have to fork over a yrs salary for a mo of insurance.

True... The most expensive car I could afford when I went to buy a car was either a 06 BMW M3 or 07 Corvette (base)... You should've seen the salesman's face when I told him "How bout that Fit over there?" Half ways through the paperwork... LOL!

I'm still looking for a nice sport compact for about $5,000 bucks that I'd spend working on the garage after work everyday....

I needed a family car... The Mercedes gave it's last croak the Z was totaled so....Couldn't come home to the family with, "Hey I bought another two seater with no trunk!" or, "Hey, the oil change in this thing is 100 bucks!"

I stick to older cars cuz theyre cheaper to fix/maintain/tune.  Once ive got my dads challenger done tho ill be have more $$$ for toys.  I might just go and see what i can get any ideas on that new Lotus? those are feckin sexy.

Just the name sounds sexy...... I'd feel ashamed if the mrs. caught me looking at it. I'd be "Wha...What are you doing here?!"

How bout the Ariel Atom? I think the 0-60 is 2.7 seconds if done right! And it only costs 40k...

NO, no no... New Mexico sucks.... CT sounds like a dream to me, compared to here.

I thoroughly hate lamborghini's. Porsche and Ferrari are true sports cars, Lamborghini's are what rich people buy and drive to a golf course.

I have much love for the lotus elise, as the base costs around as much as an sti, and the ariel atom is pure awsome.

If i get in Ill be based in the pheonix area. Lol idk. think ill just keep the cars i have now an after the challengers done save for a house.

Houses are cheap around here (region wise). A two story house is around 240,000. Compare that to a single story, beat to hell, cholo house in Cali that runs for $350,000... Yeah I used to work in construction.... If you do go to Arizona, get a house with Foam Insulation or an Adobe one. 112 degree temperature is not kind to those who've seen snow...

I know lambos are not the true sports cars, but when you just want something so flabbergasting and weird looking you can't beat a Lambo. The convertible version of I think the Gallardo is about the same size as a Focus Sedan. If I would buy a lambo it would not be to say "Hey I'm super rich" but "Hey I didn't buy a Ferrari." And the Miura has no purpose whatsoever! It'll even catch on fire of its own accord!

Have you seen the Mazda Furai? Now that pushes the limits of the imagination. They say all those waves and folds on the body produce downforce. About 80% of the Body... 2.4mpg though!!!!!

yea i saw pics of it after some auto show. its (my opinion) one of the sexiest cars mazda has come out with. And if you can afford one, the 2.4 mpg wont be hurting your wallet too badly lol.

Well well well...another thread we've diverted subject. LOL! What was the other one originally about?! LOL!

But in all seriousness. To the original subject. I your friends like European Cars then that's fine, but member this.... You'll be able to drive a car that can do all that and afford it. Have you seen the new GT-R? At first I was skeptical, but now I see what it can do. If I'd own that I'd be politely smiling at guys in Maserati's while revving the engine... 69K is a bargain no matter what you like specially for the performance.
