ok well since i have shown you proof of an 11.2 sec civic with less than $1200 underneath his hood and a book explaining the basics of turbocharging with known formulas and you have not showed me anything to prove me wrong i would  how am i beat. beat at what. you being a raging idiot and not knowing what you are talking about. then yes you did beat me at that. so since you have no evidence on what im saying is false im going to leave becuase this is going nowhere fast. trying to discuss turbocharging with you is worthless.....

jeezus bigfoot humping hell. I missed a shitload lol.

and btw, i almost guarantee a civic runnin 11's or 10's, has had at LEAST 10-12 grand invested in it. and your 100$ ebay manifold? ever heard of back pressure? yea, it may be cast, it may even actually fit right! but i guarantee you that the knockoff it is does more harm than good. you could prolly weld a better one.  But wait, the metal alone of the quality needed to make sure the damn thing doesnt MELT would cost about 75 bucks. That is unless you have an oxygen furnace on hand. (dont try agrueing that one, i test metal quality and fatigue for a living).  And that turbo you mentioned? for that price, good luck hitting a pothole and having it become unbalanced. Ok im done for now.

Now dont get your panty's in a twist, Im not calling you out here, Im too tired right now to deal with this *** anymore.  All i know is i just looked at the active post list, and all i see is your ass on every one of them, flaming people who are asking (while reduntant and sometimes stupid) questions. Look, import tuner is what most younger kids look to for info on the tuning world. If someone wants a question answered, then SOMEONE that has experience working on cars should enlighten them. after all if someone doesnt, whos going to? it may be cliche but "there are no stupid questions, but there sure as hell are stupid people". So please, just stop flaming people, and go back to superstreet.

They had a honda civic hatch on pinks all out that ran 10.5 or better i cant remember exact time and too lazy to find out i bet that probly had 15k. It looked tight even for a honda. One that actually didnt have a huge body kit scraping on the ground!

I wouldn't bash tw1n completely--he's on the right track.  I've picked up a 16G6 for 150 bucks with 9k miles on it, and I have access to a 14g with 3k miles for 100 bucks.  Those are Mitsubishi turbos--no Ebay specials there.  Obviously, I'd want to know who and where I was getting them from if buying used, but I do, so I am not as concerned.

As for the header, building a really good manifold might cost a little over 100 bucks, but I wouldn't expect much over 150.  I have an equal-length header I made on my car for around 75 bucks at the moment, although it is made of regular aluminized crap and MIG-ed together.  It'll work until the turbo engine is finished.
I'd suggest he TIG together a manifold, using 304H stainless, using ER308H for filler to match the high temperature properties.  Even if he just compares and mesures a reliably known manifold, he should come out OK.

But 10-second Civic?  I'd say 12 second is probably more realistic for the 5000 buck range.  And there is nothing wrong with making a junkyard turbo setup, as long as you have someone with experience (if not you, then a friend) on tuning.  Keep things clean, low milage if possible, and yeah, you can do some amazing things for low ***

I watched the video and read his list of modifications and i agree he probably didn't spend *** on the motor getting the car to run those times.  however, the wheels and slicks probably cost a pretty penny.  also his set up is far from reliable.  that much boost on a high compression stock honda block?  he must go through a block every track day.  either way though its impressive.
