Can anyone point me in the right direction for turbo or supercharging a MR2 Spyder. Also does anyone know of any, and all types of engine swaps, including turbo deisels--like the VW TDI? Kind Regards, Richard of Tampa Bay

Im sure Sir's going to be one here soon enough, hed be the guru of Mr2's. the 3rd gen 3s-gte is the most common swap for mr2's. I would give more info, but seeing as i just got mine like 2 days ago, im dont have a wealth of knowledge on them. yet.

Heh. I'd love to see a TDI swapped MR2, black smoke from the diesel and white from smoking tires'd make for an interesting burnout.
But like rabblerouser said, I'm sure sirscrotum1 will be here shortly to talk about why mr2's should rule the world and everyone should bow before their mid-engined overlords.
He's got lots of mr2 knowledge and as far as these forums go he'll be the only guy worth chatting with.
I'm sure there are some mr2 specific forums, more info will be there.

Have to say ive never seen a TDI swapped Mr2. Im actually custom building a car to have a biodiesel TDI with 2 tranny's (for hopefully 200+ MPH on a salt bed run)

Performance diesels are awsome, most people don't realise that TDI's aren far behind GTI's in terms of power. You should do a build-thread to show your progress.
I personally would love to build an ariel atom-esque rotary car.

Yea im most likely going to do a build post once its a bit farther along. At the moment im converting the 1.8 volks TDI to run on the vege oil diesel. Once thats done, building the chassis around it, then figurein out trans layout and gear ratios. Seeing as one trans has to be comp controlled and a manual on the other, along with it being a MRWD layout, i got my work cut out for me. Thank god for being good with CADD lol.
