El Paso County Sheriff's deputies have charged the second driver involved in the suspected racing car crash Tuesday that took the life of a 21-year mother of two on Socorro Road.
On Thursday, deputies from the Special Traffic Investigations Unit charged Jose Aaron Garcia, 20, of the 700 block of Alamo in Fabens, Texas, for Racing on a highway causing serious bodily injury or death - a second-degree Felony. His bond was set at $75,000 Bond.
The crash killed Ana Elva Morales and injured her two small children.
Garcia was the driver of the Ford Focus that struck Morales' SUV near the intersection of Socorro Road and Herring Road in San Elizario. Deputies say the Focus was traveling about100 miles an hour when it struck the woman's 1996 Toyota 4Runner.
The driver of the other car suspected of racing, Alberto Valdez, 22. was taken into custody shortly after the crash.
The SUV got sent into a tree where the mother died immediately... One of the kids got ejected and the other got partially ejected....

Street racing sure isnt always as glorious as it seems. I'm sure most of us have all been guilty of it at some point or another, but its not worth it when things end in tragedy. Take it to the track, it will be the best $15 or so you'll ever spend.
