axle back is simply for sound, and a cat back will add power. it is a federal law that cars must have a catalytic converter. having an exhaust will in all likelihood get you pulled over eventually. your warranty can only be voided if the dealership can prove that a modification caused the warranty. its called the lemon law. if your exhaust is made by a well known company it won't sound like a ricer fart can.

so catback exhausts have "high-flow" catalytic converters?

youll have warranty problems any way you go. once you touch a wrench to that car you could break the warranty. if your worried about warranty dont touch the car. the only way to keep a warranty with aftermarket parts is by gettin dealership parts. toyota, scion, and lexus have trd, ford has svt. check you local mitsubishi dealership for any aftermarket parts. that is the only way to not break your warranty.

Lemon Law states that warranty can only be denied if the modification was the exclusive cause of the problem. For instance if your car hydrolocks and you have a cold air intake there goes the warranty, but if you have an exhaust system and your transmission goes bad, then there is no link between the mod and the malfunction.

down here, if you turn one bolt anywhere on the car you break the warranty. alot of places are really strict. you need to find out if there are any manufacture aftermarket part for your car. you also need to check with the dealership and ask the warranty person if you can add certain items to your car with out breakin the warranty. if not then save up your money and when your warranty goes out do all the work to your car.
