I just bought a well owned '85 Celica,Im curious to know if the front end is capable of fitting a 1JZ Engine. It would be great if someone could answer this straight up or guide me towards a better suiting engine that still has the capablility to keep up with '90-'95 makes.

Ive been working on the mk3 supras for a lil while now, and as far as the 85 celicas go, you can drop in a 5mg(t)e, which is the engine from the celica supra. Im not too sure about if it'll just drop in or not but yes you should be able to fit either the 1JZ from the 89-92 supra or the 7mg(t)e... but remember before you drop either of those in to put in a MHG and ARP head studs.  Also, check out www.toyota-supra.info/forums for more in depth info on your MKII.
