u miight can drag if u dump alot fo money into a swap and rebuild and mabe win but i doubt that u would cause the Civics have a a high compression engine and it would make it hard to get alot of boost and also the car is a N/A FWD .if u dont wanna get another car roll racing would be good for a FWD car.
if u do sell it get like a MR2 with a stock turbo, or 3kgt, or a supra. but i recomend the MR2 even though im not a fan of MR cars.but u can run low numbers almost stock.soo it would be great for drag cause of the rwd and turbo engine.

^yea, civics will require a ton of money to compete in straight up drag racing, but fair decent in roll racing. the mr2 is one of the better cars gibby mentioned. With the stock turbo'ed engine and RWD, they will run low 13's stock, not to mention handle like a ferrari, and can get to mid 12's with a couple bolt ons. while the 3kgt and supras are capable of oodles of hp, and are AWD and RWd, they are friggin land yacht's, with the supra being 3400 lbs, and the 3kgt being 3800 lbs (which is almost double my mr2). (remember power to weight ratio plays a key roll in drag). That and idk bout the 3kgt, but the supras are notorius for gobbling up your budget in repairs. (i had an mk3 and had to do the HG twice in 20k miles). Or i know blasphemy, but you could go with a tried and true v8 suck as a fox body mustang with the 302.

A simple fix would be get coil-overs on the Civic. Place it on the hardest setting for compression on the rear shocks as its where the weight is going to shift and then put it on the hardest setting for rebound on the fronts (you'll need a two-way adjustable ones). Get a fairly stiff spring setup and some polyurethane suspension and engine mount bushings. It'll eliminate wheel hop and the car sinking (which reduces launch times) On the tires see if you can get some tire-warmers like the use on F1 (not very likely) or do a controlled burnout. Get a friend with what I think its called a Pyrometer (who knows). It measures temperature on the wholes set on Racing tires. Check at what time they reach optimal temp. Usually around 200 degrees for R-compound and Slicks (UHP tires is about 170 and are cheaper). Then do that at the track to heat the tires accordingly.
Here's some advice: DO NOT DO A BIG ASS BURNOUT.
(1) Your car is FWD so, you'll *** up your brakes
(2) It will exceed the optimal tire temp level and you'll put on a good show about your stupidity after such an awesome burnout. Also you'll lose....
You won't be beating any supercars, but you'll beat all those idiots who don't prepare for the simplest of races (going in a straight line.) I mean how easy is that? "Hey guys I brought my (dad's) 98' Camaro (with street tires) and I'm here to lay down the law..[huge burnout]..........."

I actually had that happen with a kid i was racing (but he was in a firebird). He blew his tire when he shifted to 3rd cuz he practically melted the sidewall (he was running like 20 psi "to help him launch"). little did he know while my camaro, while lookin like a pile of dog *** had 550 hp and slicks.
I almost felt sorry for him. Almost.

Yeah, beazy. Just some preparation and quick reflexes could get you far. Not like the idiot's who keep bringing those ghastly Scion Toaster Boxes to the Drags. I guess it has a low Frontal Mass for when it hits the air currents or something.......LMAO!.....
or the riced out Civics with lambo doors, because we all know they give 50hp more (per door!).....Tards....
And if you miss a shift..... well that kinda means you suck....alot.....I mean you're going in a straight line......no apex's......I think there's a law of nature that says against it, but it happens...... I'm a dick!

Don't forget stickers they're an HP each so get as many as you can!
and if you put a "GT badge you're muthafucking unstoppable! LOL R"

yes, you should cower in fear of the "GT-R" badge. specially when its on the new beetle. damn so thats why the taurus station wagon beat me? he was covered in WCCC (local rock radio) stickers. there literally was NO paint visible.
And yes i keep all my totals. The benefit of having an acre lot behind my garage. Ive got a scrap metal fence going lol. Yea, ive been able to part out various cars ive totalled for about 9 grand now.(parts paid the cost for the 4 bay garage i built in my back yard)

there are plenty of civics running tens or less with less than $5000. you guys gave no idea what you are talking about. they do not come factory with hi comp engines 9.1 is perfect for a turbo car. with out even touching the internals you can easily get 220hp on a sohc. and 220hp in a civic is good for 13s all day long

(really) LMAO.... I think the Civic Si has a compression ratio of about 10:1 and my Fit even has a compression ratio of 10:1!
Less than 5k huh? Lets put the ball in your court.... What do they have? (I bet some MAD "gt-r" badges)
Screw it... Why you're wrong:
Honda's have an open deck block....you don't know what that means do you? Well it means that the water jackets that surround the cylinder sleeves are pretty big and are not that reinforced. Sure you could pump 220hp which is about 7psi (which doesn't matter in your book, or Need For Speed). But try to push the boost to about...Oh I don't know 20psi and it'll blow sky high. The most you could pump out of an Open Deck type block would be about...14psi to put it conservatively.
NO, you don't have any idea, not even a clue....
