Scion tC a good choice?

Hey everyone, I've been an outside observer in the import scene. The majority of my car knowledge is with sedans more so than high performance vehicles but I have done some research. I'm thinking of stepping into the scene with a Scion tC(2006-2009). Now I know its a FWD, but mind you, I really don't want a speed machine. I would like a car that can be a bit of a show car when needed, have more get up than the average car of its kind, and still be an everyday driver. I live in the DC-Metro area, so speed isn't essential (MD state troopers drive Chargers and VA...nuff said). Maybe one day, I'll get that speed machine to invest in. So do you think the tC would fit my needs? If you have any other suggestions on cars, or mods, don't hesitate to let me know. Thanks!

I'd look into an Acura rsx or Volkswagen gti, both put out around 40HP more than the scion, and in terms of reliability Honda is king, While the 2.0 in the golf is a near bulletproof engine.

I don't know much about scions, mind you, so I can't talk about the reliability of one.
