alright, i'm tired of this car. rotary just isn't my thing.  this car body is in great shape, and i have all the parts to fix it except for upper intake manifold gaskets. it basically has three engines for it, two trannys, two hoods, and two hatches. the performance parts are valued at over two grand. this is a great car, but its not running at the moment. just a little bit of work will have it running. it isn't worth my time, considering i can't hardly even fit in the car, being 6'4. great chance for someone to own a classic sporty car! -located in central illinois-  email me at vamp_19_03@hotmail.com for any questions. price negotiable, and i will consider any trades

people always get fed up with rotary motors.  too much maintenance and unreliability.  if i wasn't on the other side of the country i'd think about taking it off your hands and swapping an LS1.

an ls1 swap is when they swap out the stock rotary engine for the ls1 from the late 90's camaro Z28 and corvette.  a V8 naturally aspirated beast, and when combined with the lightweight chassis of the RX7, is amazing.

Yeah but you do have a problem from what im told about the rx7 at least the next gen, the frame is aluminum so the torque from an ls1 will twist it

Well consider this. You can get the same amount of Hp out of the LS1 easier than you could from the rotaty and the all aluminum LS1 also weighs a little more than the twin turbo rotary keeping the 50/50 weight distribution, count that with the now null issue of going lean or breaking an apex seal well...

Not alot of people can take care of a rotaty now-a-days let alone a regular car. How many lemons are there on the used car lots with conventional engines.

getting power from a rotary isnt that hard just get a bigger turbo?
running lean and blowing a seal only happens if your stupid and dont monitor your car or have no tunning skills at all.
or turning up the boost with no supporting mods.

rotarys can be and are very reliable.

its the dumb people who have no clue buy one and start slapping aftermarket stuff on it and make it unreliable.

in STOCK form with reliablity mods it is just as reliable as any other car.

I'm not trying to belittle no-one, when I wrote that and take mention of what I said.

"Not a lot of people can take of a rotary now-a-days"

and:

"How many lemons have you seen on the used car lots with conventional engines" (by that cars with little maintenance records.)

The Mazda rotary is an amazing engine pumping out incredible amounts of power out of an engine about the same displacement as a GEO metro's, but since I'm getting the feeling that you called me "dumb" consider this:

A hot 106 degree California afternoon, Turbocharged, and with an engine that barely runs of 91 octane. Tell me how I'm not going to hear that "Ping" that is the mother-of-all fears, for RX owners when they're trying to overtake someone on the freeway?.. And yes the radiator on those is pretty small too, and we're talking stock form. That and the MAP sensor dictated array and others...eh?

It's a great car in every sense of the enthusiast spirit, but its not very practical...

and no I'm not dumb...

Now make that thing run on Methanol then throw all my arguments aside, that things perfect... To bad we don't live in places like Brazil were cars run on Methanol and other natural Alcohols... But gas mileage would go down so, Its kinda tough. But then again you don't  buy those cars for the gas mileage anyways...

Getting off subject aren't I? ^
