I have a 2000 civic ex that i got as a present and im saving up for a new car. I want to see other people's opinions on the s2000 and rsx, besides my brothers opinion "hondas suck"(he has a 240sx but cant drive it for *** Ive liked the look of the rsx and the pretty good gas mileage. But the s2000 is RWD and rsx is FWD. Any of your opinions will help.

That's a hard call to make. I think I would go with the s2000 because it is a little bit faster and RWD.

It is a tough call. Between these two i would say it comes down to preference. Honestly i would take the s2000 over the rsx, simply because s2000's are few and far between where i am from.
But when it comes to aftermarket, your going to be looking at the same dealers for both cars pretty much. Spoon makes some sweet stuff for the rsx and s2000.
If you plan on racing it, then again, all preference. A fwd will help you get off the line alot quicker, where as the rwd will help alot with torque steering since the rear wheels will drive the car.
for a daily driver though the fwd is the better option if you have to deal with wet/ice roads since it has a better weight ratio for control in those conditions. If it's all clear then a rwd is just fine.
Also to, if you can find a newer s2000 for the same price as an rsx i would say take it, since the s2000 is more expensive

^ You are misinformed about FWD off the line. FWD<RWD off the line because when a FWD car launches the weight of the car shifts off of the drive wheels onto the rear wheels thus letting the wheels spin. When a RWD car launches off the line it the weight shifts onto the drive wheels making the car grip that much more. Also the S2K doesn't have enough torque to have any torque steer issues.

The RSX and S2000 are both Honda's, so neither will have problems with reliability or quality.
If your gonna be daily driving the vehicle, then the RSX is probably the better option, as the s2000 is more a dedicated sports car.
Besides that it pretty much comes down to FWD vs RWD. If you want to get into drag racing then go RWD, else wise it's all up to your personal preference / driving style.

a FWD is most definitely faster off the line. The only problem it has off the line is with wheel skip, but that can be easily fixed. Because of the weight distribution in a FWD, all the engine weight is on the drive tires which grip alot quicker than a RWD would. I never said it would pull away quicker after the line.
In a RWD the weight does not shift to the back. Think about weight distribution in a car for a second. Of all the weight, where do you think most of it is centralized? Over the engine. Meaning a FWD will grip harder as soon as you start to accelerate. Hence why if you have ever tried to drive a RWD in ice it just slides all over the place, it has no weight holding down the rear tires, which is why people put sandbags in their trunks.
The s2k also won't have any problem with torque steer because it's a RWD. Only FWD need to worry about torque steer.

The weight does indeed shift to the back.
Ever seen a wheelie car? All the weight of a car is shifted back onto the rear tires.
The front-engine does make a difference but only in the lower power bands, once you hit enough power to spin the wheels it's time to switch to RWD.

Yeah but a FWD can handle anywhere up to 300hp, after that your pretty much in need of a RWD or AWD.

the acura rsx is pretty much a civic si with a different body and an rsx sticker stuck to it in my opinion. i would take the 2000 hands down.

this one is easy-S2000. This will give you more flexibility as far as racing goes and will cost less to make fast. the rsx is good for drag use but much less effective for any kind of race with turns. My advice? get the s2000, DON'T mess with the suspension, supercharge it, and be impressed with yourself

Their similar cars manufactured by the same company, with variations of the same motor (I believe, their both k-series right k20?) and based on the same platform.
One is merely a somewhat upgraded version of the other, hence a glorified civic.
Thats a good thing, only 3 things can survive a nuclear fallout: cockroaches, chuck norris, and honda civics.

both of them are slow as hell. look for something else. I smoked one of them the other night in my 73 roadrunner and it is all stock and i didnt even get it out of second gear.

Thats odd, you owned an rx8 in your last thread, and something FWD in the one before that. I doubt you own anything short of a minivan.
