My car is somewhat of a street sleeper until u hear the exhaust, i have a chevy malibu 2001 and its quick but i want the performance to match the sound of the car its quick but the top end is lacking on the 1/4 mile what could i do to get it to hit at least 100 mph on the track.

in the 1/4 mile to hit 100mph you will need to run around a 13.9 second run, which is honestly not going to come cheap.  refer to my reply in your intake/exhaust thread.

Well your first mod should be a for sale sign.

If you read our new car sticky, you will find that FWD NA's often make the worst tuning platforms for quartermile drag racing.

Granted there are fast FWD cars out there, but theyve usually had 10-15k dropped into them.

I recommend putting your car up for sale, and then choosing a car that comes with RWD/AWD from the factory, and has either a turbo 4/6cylinder or is supercharged from the factory, or has a V8, and only then will you know what cheap and easy to make fast means.

In my area there is a Malibu with rims and an Evo style wing. It looks a bit wierd.

^ not really.  u've posted like 5 different posts asking questions such as "Where Can I Find Parts For My 2009 Lancer?".  Therefore it is not creepy at all.  Big time fail

hahaha mpoky14 i do NOT spend my life on this forum.  I'm a mechanical engineering student so most of my time is either spent working on homework or spending time with friends.  I check this site when i'm at home bored before i go to bed.  I mostly go on this forum to help out newbs such as yourself who seek knowledge, since knowledge was so freely given to me when i was a newb.  don't get all butt hurt bro.

I'm not trying to fight you bro, just trying to inform you.  I understand being 16 and having a nice/slow car.  When I was 16 I drove a base model RSX (very similar platform to the new Lancers).  I didn't bother modifying it because there was simply not enough gain.  However, I drove the car for 3 years, and became a safer, more experienced driver.  Then I stepped up to something more fun to drive.

wait until some good coil/overs come out for your car and bolt those on.  go with some light weight/wider than stock wheels, and wrap them in a good set of sticky rubber.  Throw a thicker rear sway bar on to eliminate some under steer, but leave the front one stock unless you can find one smaller.  Thicker front sway bar on FWD platforms increases under steer when exiting a corner.  Upgrade the factory brake lines to some stainless steel lines to improve brake feel.  Upgrade the brake pads to some Hawk HP+'s, and then finally swap the brake fluid out to a good DOT4 fluid such as Motul or ATE Super Blue.
