engine trouble

I have a 2001 honda civic that i just bought but the engine wont let me rev more than 4000 rpm i have taken it to a tuning shop in denver but they didn't know either can anybody help me out here oh and the car does have a short ram air intake that it already had in it i want to replace it because its a generic piece of crap but i wanna get the car fixed first

if you're in denver go to Corsport USA.  they'll fix you up.  what motor do you have in the car?  If it is a VTEC motor then my guess is you need a new VTEC solenoid

yeah im in denver, where is that at? and i do have the vtec in there thanks for the help and im gonna go check them out

i tried them they said they couldnt help me and i checked it out and i do think its my vtec solenoid or vtec pressure

probably solenoid.  thats weird that they can't assist you.  i could of sworn they had full time mechanics, but that may be for their project cars exclusively.

yeah they suggested other shops but they just didn't wanna do it so im just gonna have some chassis work done on it and drop a sr20det on it i already bought it from my friend in japan so thanks for your help though i appreciate it
