The stock K20A2 is the best you can get.  Great motor with a lot of options.  If you have the money slap a Red Shift super charger on it, tune it with K-Pro, and add some basic bolt ons then you'll have an impressive FF car

ok so i see alot of people have viewed my post and only one offering any help here, im good with bodywork but know *** about motors and performance. i would like to say thank you to k20z3 for ur post and ur advice but i would further like to elaborate on my original post i was looking at possibly dropping a not a b18 or b16 motor but rather replacig it with if at all possible a motor from may be a 08 wrx since it will give me an extra 140 bhp with the same size 2.0 engine, i was wondering what kind of swaps like this i can do and what will work for my car, i would like to make my rsx type s a car that will not be taken lightly....please if anybody can guide me i could really use the help as i thought this site would be of more help to me since im a rookie when it comes to tuner motors and performance parts, if it was a mustang gt, formula firebird, firehawk or something of a muscle nature my buddies would be helping me but as my car is a import they know nothing i coulkd really use a boost on this one.......

It would make WAYYY more sense to just ad on to ur motor than swap it...the motor's got great potential, why not use it? And it would cost HUGE $$$ to put in anything like a Subi motor in ur RSX...and it would just be weird (IMO)

Like I said just put a few grand into ur motor and it will be fast...if you swap it with anything then you will end up paying like 5 or more grand and still have a stock motor...

Hybrid swaps are pointless.  They're extremely difficult to attempt, and even skilled mechanics fail to succeed in pulling off these swaps that give you more bragging rights then actual potential.  If you want to make your RSX-S a beast and you're willing to drop a lot, and i mean A LOT of money into it then do the following:

Rebuild the block with a Brian Crower K Series Stroker Kit with low compression pistons
Skunk 2 Racing Turbo camshafts, springs, valves, and retainers
Full Race Engineering turbo kit
Custom 3.5' exhaust
Hondata K-Pro
Ported/polished head
Apex'i boost controller
Tranny rebuild with Quaiffe LSD
Etc, etc, etc.

This would make your Acura a monster, but also cost you about $15,000 bare minimum in parts alone.  This is not taking into account the suspension mods you would have to do to keep the car glued to the ground, or the pricey R-Compound tires it would require (which you would burn through like none-other).

By the way your friend with the 01 Mustang GT is full of ***  My 2007 Civic Si (basically your car with a stock limited slip differential) sh*ts on mustang gt's from that generation on straight lines, and through twisties (obviously lol).  If you know how to drive, and time your shifting properly it is not farfetched to say that you should get him by about 1.5 car lengths through a 1/4 mile.

My advice is to do some basic bolt-ons (intake, header, exhaust) on your RSX-S and a lot of suspension mods and have fun with it at the track, and later down the line get a factory forced induction platform to make into a beast.  Thats my plan with my Si, because I'd rather have fun with a slow FF N/A platform over banging my head on the walls because i'm in debt from throwing parts on credit cards and taking money out of savings.

im sponsored so my sponsorship covers 60% of all parts i put into my car....so if ur telling me im looking at 15k then ill actually only b spending about 6k.....i had a formula firebird and that stomped his mustang. i want him to realise tuners are not chicks cars and have respect for them as he has a theory that if i take my car to any race track i will get eaten by muscle......i would love nothing more than to make my acura a beast that eats his mustang alive, i almost bought a 93 rx7 with 70k original miles for 14k until he told me not to cuz it was a bad idea in the long run. i think he just didnt want to get owned by and old tuner as im pretty sure that car would have roasted him......

strip all of that ICE crap out of there if you want your car to be fast.  All of the body parts, lambo doors, and sound stuff are adding probably a good 300lbs to your car.
