Hey, I'm most likely going to be purchasing a 240sx soon and I had a few questions.
Question number one:
It seems nearly impossible to find a '95+ 240sx that has been toyed with by somebody else. Do any of you have a recommendation on how or where to find one?
Question number two:
This will be my first tuner car. I'm going to be honest and say that I'm a car noob. I understand that tuning a car isn't easy, but I've liked to tinker and figure out how things work. If though I am the type of person who likes this stuff would it be a smart idea to wait or take classes or something?
Question number three:
This one kind of goes with the previous question- How did you guys learn about tuning?
Question number four:
Have any of you heard how Project R14 by Full Race is? I'm not planning on doing that anytime soon by any means, but it seems pretty cool...
Thanks, any advice is appreciated!

1) 240SX is an old car so you won't find one that isn't somewhat *** up.
2)Theres no need to take classes. You can find any info from the internet.
3)I learned (still learning. know one knows it all) by reading for hours and hours on the internet, magazines, etc. and by talking to track junkies.
4)Full Race is an incredible company and makes amazing turbo kits. I doubt they make anything for stock 240SX motors though. The USDM motor for the car was the KA24 which is a weak economy motor. The JDM motor was the SR20DET (2.0L cast iron blocked turbo motor) which almost everyone swaps into their 240's. If you get a 240SX I would forget about modifying it for while. Learn how to drive it in stock form and then get some wheels, coil overs, and good tires. Then learn how to drive it like that. Then do an SR20DET swap, and start pulling more power out of it. If you have the money go with a Full Race turbo upgrade.

I recently purchased a 91 240sx and i have to say its a great little car to biggin with. One thing i learned when looking for a 240sx, or maybe other old car that are frequently modified is that you should take your time. Ive went and seen atleast 4 before buying this one, and if i bought one of the previous ones ive seen i would of really not gotten much for my money. I payed around 1300 for mine and well, its in GREAT shape other the the mileage, the runs amazing, leather seat + manual + sun roof. little combo i was aiming for, i also got the model with the super hicas, wich is a disanvantage for drifting but i could care less of drifting. I much prefer handling and this car is good for handling aswell. My frame isnt rusted out and theres only a small peice of rust on the roof, the car was store for like 5 years and never used in winter.
Now some of the previous 240sx i went to see were shitty compared to this. for around the same price they had non leather seats and riped, peice of dash missing rust on the outside engine hardly ran, doors were falling out and u couldnt lock the door. And the frame was probebly rusted throught aswell.
So take your time, and i guarante you`ll find one you like.

is it me or are the engines there cheaper? I thought that SR20DET's when for much more then that. I actually read somewhere that the cost of an SR20DET swap for a 240sx was going to cost around 10,000 if you do it right. Anyone know why these ones are so cheap?
