i am thinking about gettin one for a project car, i need to know if i drop a 4g63t engine in it, will eclipse and talon parts work on it as well. or if it's even possibly to  make the swap, and if it's possible to make the swap, is the car even tuneable.  

any swap is possible if the motor will physically fit into the engine bay.  some swaps cost very little, others could cost tens of thousands of dollars.  my guess is that a 4G63 swap would be very expensive considering its a hybrid swap that would require the car to be completely re-wired.  You would also need a custom drive shaft to match to the 4G63 transmission.  

Wuts the point of swapping another 4g63 into a car that already comes with one from the factorY? Buy one that doesnt have a messed up 4g63, and u should be able to use to one thats in there in the first place.

I dont think it owuld be a complicated swap K20z3, Plymouth Laser AWD's come with 4g63's stock.

all gen one, laser,eclips, and talons come with eather a 1.8 SHOC or the 2.0 DOCH.
the 2.0 in the laser is in fact a 4G63.
 You can swap out the two motors and keep the same harness, the only thing you may need to chance is the conputer and the transmission, becouse the housing for the 1.8 will not handel the tourq out put and will shatter.
 or you can keep the 1.8 and change your duty cycle in your injectors,fule pump, ect....and come out with about 200hp if you are lucky.
 The only problam is you will have to fab out a flange if you wanna put a turbo on the motor  

yea it's already got a rebuilt motor, i was more curios if eclipse and talon parts could be put on the car with ease.  

The 1.8 in them is FWD. He is talking about the AWD one and that only came with a 4g63. 1.8 makes crap tuning platform, its really not worth mentioning because as the new car sticky reads, FWD NA 4cylinders make the worst tuning platforms.


Yes, Eclipse and talon parts will work with the car, as they share the same chassis, motor, drivetrain, the only differences being badging and certain bodypanels/headlights.  

any god place to look for older parts like that? it's easy to find after market parts for newer cars but i am havin trouble finding the old ones.
