I've decided its not worth it to try to pull power out of my 2007 Honda Civic Si anymore. I absolutely love the car. Its a blast to drive, great sound system, sleek looking, and great fuel economy. However, there just is not enough "bang for my buck" in terms of modifications. For what I would spend to get a decent amount of power out of it, I figured it just is not worth it until I'm rich lol. So I will keep it as a daily driver. The projects i'm considering are as follows:
Nissan 240SX swapped w/ an RB25DET or SR20DET (preferably RB>SR) Nissan 300ZX swapped w/ a JDM VG30DETT 1st generation RX7 with a JDM single turbo 1.3L rotary Mazda Miata with a fabricated turbo from an SR20 (Very unlikely as I am 6"2' and probably can't fit in a Miata) Lexus SC300 with a bolt on turbo kit
Any opinions or suggestions? This will be a track dedicated vehicle with full coil/overs, staggered wheel set up, stripped, and will definitely not be street legal. Please no uninformed opinions, for your sake.

The choice is clear if you want bang for the buck, the MR2 Turbo. Maybe I am a bit bias'd towards them, but I think if you just tried driving a MR car, its hard to go back to anything else.
Although, thats if you want a car that can do, both track AND daily drive it with decent fuel economy and outstanding performance in all catagories.
Also a MK1.5 MR2 might really suit your need for speed and daily driveability, 400whp on stock block in a 2300lb chassis is no joke.

I have the same problem with the MR2 as I do with the Miata. I'm a tall guy so I doubt I'd be able to fit in the car with my track helmet on. I'll definitely take it into consideration, but i'll have to sit in one first to see if my height will be an issue.

The Miata can be too small for people above 6"4 and 200lbs maybe, but the MR2 is much more of a fullsized 2seater car, much more spaceous and longer/wider than a miata. The MR2 weighs 2700lbs, the 93 Miata weighs 2240lbs so theres a lot more car around you in an MR2.
The first thing I noticed sitting in my MR2 compared to my Miata is how much more spaceous it was, I sat lower to the ground so roof height wasnt much of an issue, and the door is at a perfect level to rest your elbow on the side without having your arm at an odd angle.
It was a luxury/fast GT car, so its somewhat fullsized for a 2seater.

Wow i'll have to look into it heavily. It would be nice to have a project car that didn't need a swap. What is insurance like on these cars? That will be a big issue as I'm a broke college student. I saw a nice MR2 when I was at the track last weekend and it had some sort of ram induction trunk lid with a big snorkel like thing that came up near the top of the rear windshield. Any info on those?

The snorkel is just for looks, and actually inhibits airflow through the enginebay (The air moves from below the car up through the air vents, not the otherway around) But some people get fooled into thinking there for performance.
Insurance is pretty affordable since the cars are so old, there only drawback is age takes a toll on a lot of their parts as with any older car, but it still gives evo like performance for a fraction of the cost.
