I am looking to do some work on my Eclipse but i want to do it right. The rims are being done and the wing is being replaced (thoughts on that too? stock wing compared to something more like the wing on the eclipse in 2 fast 2 furious). But I'm not one of those guys who like it to look fast but not be able to move. Im just looking for thoughts that wont break the bank but will help improve the speed. Thoughts on blow off valve, exhaust, cold air intake, ecu chip, any thing like that. Also the clutch was just replaced. Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Asides from roll racing (which is illegal), which is about the only thing a modded eclipse gst is good for, when it comes to what kind of quartermile times you need to put down before your car is deemed "fast" will require several thousand dollars.

One eclipse gst on dsmtalk.com's quartermile section had 600whp, slicks, and still only put down a 12 second quartermile. Its because the car has such great difficulty getting any power to the ground that the only eclipse worth making a race car out of is the eclipse gsx.

Trust me, I know, my brother owns an eclipse gst and even he is frustrated with the horrible times his car put down at the track.

If speed is of concern at all, keep the gst relatively stock, and sell it and buy the gsx.

i have read some of your posts and u seem to know what your talking about and i know u don't like the fwd cars. But it is my car I'm not selling it and i want to keep it so rather then like telling me how bad it is can u just help me out? I want it to be faster I'm not a street racer i like the speed the acceleration and race some friends with vr6's and my dads 300c which he is modding and stuff like that so its not track time or anything mostly rolling starts and stuff so its more for fun so im looking for cheaper ways to increase speed and acceleration. So not to be a dick but if u could just help me out rather then saying sell hahaha it would be great

go with the cold air intake first   it will give you a decent horsepower boost and it is not that expensive     you can get a good one from AEM for around $250   www.summitracing.com=good site for parts

cold air intakes are a waste on a turbo car that has an intercooler.  i say upgrade the intercooler, 3" exhaust, and reflash your ECU for starters.

thicker rear sway bar will help with FWD understeer.
