hey guys whats up i own a 94 probe gt and i have a few ?'s its my first probe and i love the car i am currently serving my first tour in iraq and dont really have all the access to find stuff for my probe where im always working so i was hoping u guys could help me a lil bit with some site for performance parts and interior and stuff and my probe has an oil pressure problem and the plugs smell like fuel and ideas what might be the problem...and ideas or suggestions would help thenk....  

Ah so you want to own a fast Ford Probe. In that case, put a for sale sign on your car and buy the 1st generation model of Ford Probes that came with the 2.2L Turbo motor.

That is the only ford probe that is easily made fast without putting too much money into it.

Otherwise your looking at spending 10-15000 dollars on a motor rebuild, turbokit, different ecu and injectors, tuning etc etc. that it really isnt worth your time most likely.  

i have a 89 probe gt as well i want the 2nd gen for looks and just a few motor mods but i need to find out whats wrong with it now why its losing oil pressure and why the plugs are smelling like fuel..and not to sound rude but money is not really an issue when u are single with no bills in iraq....

not to sound rude but if money's not a problem buy a better car haha.  

i dont want another car holy *** why cant people just give opinions about the subject if i wanted a different car i would have gotten another car i dont want another car thanks for the opinion but no thanks  

if you wanna go real big the rebuild the motor with Cosworth pistons/rings, rods, crank shaft, and sleeve the block.  Then slap on a turbo kit, and get a good stand alone ECU, and get a good tune for some big boost.  Rebuild your transmission with a lower final drive, and a helical type limited slip differential (LSD).  Get some basic bolt ons and some suspension/wheel/tire upgrades and you'll have a bad ass car.  it'll run you close to $15,000 dollars, but if you've got the money and wanna do it then more power to you bro.

well for the engine build you'll have to call Cosworth Engineering and speak with them directly.  for the other parts try www.directtuning.com or www.hopupracing.com   if those sights don't have anything just google them.  some of these parts might need to be custom built.  

first i want to say thank you for servin this country. my brother was in iraq 2yrs ago. the probe is an okay car. first thing you need to do is ditch the stock tranny cause they are crap. it has the same tranny as the mazda mx6. dont listen to scrotum he thinks every body should own a torbod mr2 blaaaa. he talked mad *** on my 03 eclipse gs when i first got here. i have a friend( yes i know i have alot of friends with many different types of cars) who has a 2nd gen with a 1st gen 2.2t swap. he only spent abou 2gs to get the motor runnin and built cause he did all the work. his car ran a 6.2 in the 1/8th mile. i dont know specs cause he wrapped it around a pole, dwi.

check your gaskets and your fuel filter. on my eclipse i lose oil pressure on certain oil filters. i use fram oilfilters. lean out ur fuel injectors thatl get rid of the smell. if u cant lean em u might have to purchase new injectors. if you do go with performance ones

Read the new car sticky god father if you still are foolish enough to beleive FWD NA is a good racing platform, it goes into depth why a NA 4cylinder makes the worse kind of racing platform.

You even recommend this guy use the exact same motor I suggested, the 2.2Turbo from the turbo probe was your friends "secret" to owning a fast Ford Probe.

If the man wants a fast probe, he can either put a 2.2 Turbo motor in his existing probe, or sell it and buy a turbo probe.  

well dude the way i see it its his money his car he can do as he wishes and my probe will be fast when i get back u dont have to have the 2.2 motor to make a fast probe and i rember reading a import tuner magizine about te 2.4 gs eclipse motor and it was producing like 340 whp so i wouldnt knock it if i was you because with cars now a days anything can be fast  

^ he's just saying its going to cost 5 times as much to make the car fast then if it was the 2.2T probe.
