Best import tuner model?

I am considering buying an import to play around with putting a turbo on. What would be a good import model that wouldn't be too expensive that is readily available? Something possibly built in the late 90s that was popular for doing something like this that I could resell when I was ready to move up. Is there some model that was more popular for this application than others?
Thanks,
Chris

depends on your experience level. I would go with a Talon

Thanks for the info. I did a little reaserch and the prices on a Talon seems pretty reasonable. How do think it would work to turbo charge one of those? Do they have the room for that?

dude check out more cars   try looking at the mitsubishi gst(FWD)  or the gsx(AWD)   those are some other late 90 models.  look around before you pick on though.  look through all the "Im lookin for a car" forums and see whats there

Do some research on your own man. This stuff is not that hard to look up and you'll probably find more accurate information elsewhere. Also, there have already been plenty of similar threads on here before. If you're going to ask for advice here, try being more specific: What type of price range are you looking at? Do you want AWD, FWD, or RWD? Is this a project car or daily driver? Based on what you've said so far, I would suggest a civic based on their reliability and large aftermarket support.

If your looking for a late model, go with the Subaru WRX and it is an AWD vehicle so it should react well to turbo upgrade.

I'm going to have to say go with the Civics. IMO it will resell the best and parts are everywhere. Honestly stay away from the Eclipse crowd. Most Eclipse owners are less than ideal to hang with.

Everywhere you turn there are Civics, I would stay from Civics even if you could find parts everywhere.

nissan 240 is pretty popular.
mazda rx-7 good platform as stock but less reliable as you upgrade, but what car is bullet proof.

i mean my car is 14 years old but just by looking at it you would think its brand new.

another good car is an integra. minimal upgrades for 13-14 second car.
supra. should i say more.

the Talon is an ok choice but get the model that already has turbo and awd.
wrx is a good car to but just not what i would buy.

good luck and i hope i helped.
