Ok I lost a bet and now I have to take a 98 Ford Escort and make it a tuner... I know this is gonna be hard.. but im new to tuners.. I do trucks.. Ive bagged many trucks but no cars.. so what do I do first I need tips on what I need to do.. What parts I need... HELP there is a 5000 bet I cant do it... lol... help please..

your screwed. i doubt you lost the bet, and this is your first car your trying to hook up.
i would see if there are any interals that you can purchase (maybe make them stronger) and throw on a nos bottle...... but then again, that'd be stupid....

swap the motor for the supercharged V8 escort motor. only way your car will be fast for under 10,000 dollars

theres really nuthin you can really do here, unless you have alotta money you wanna play with lol... maybe try add turbo or supercharge it, but then again it might over heat....

Im assuming if you have the money to make a 5000 dollar bet you have enough money to toy with the car.
Escorts blow.. through and through.
Here is what i would do (if youve got the money)
Pull engine. Rebuild for 8.5:1 compression (9:1 would be okay also). Find a "bolt on" turbo kit for the car. Run 6psi. New fuel pump (walbro 255). Injectors (400-450cc maybe.. not used to 4bangers as much as the v6 in 3000gts).. All the supporting goodies as well.
New engine management, stage 2 clutch, solid motor mounts, new strut/sway bars, good set of shocks, upgraded brakes, LW flywheel, crank pully, Headerback exhaust, intake.
Quick breakdown if you dont have the money. Cold air intake, headerback exaust, underdrive pulley. Simple bolt ons, quick and easy. Gains wont be worth *** but atleast you tried eh? Maybe a 50 shot if your not worried about the engine.
Whats the bet exactly? Certain car you have to beat? certain time you have to beat?
