Hey,
As of right now I have a 97' Trans Am WS6...and it's been givin me problems ever since I got it so i've decided to go ahead and trade it in and get an import.  And what i'm truly looking for is a car that i can depend on and it's driveable ALL YEAR.  I have been looking at Honda Accord, Nissan 300zx, Acura Integras, and a few others.  My main use of the car is to just get me to school and work but i do want pimp it out a litte bit.  Thinkin bout puttin on a body kit and just makin the outside look overall clean and a nice exhaust(not a fart can).  I am planning on EVENTUALLY moddin out the engine to get it above 330hp (what my trans am has right now)...any suggestions would be helpful.

You should read our new car sticky, it will tell you what makes a good tuning platform.

I myself have a 2.0 turbo that makes about 330whp with just minor bolt ons to a stock long block stock ecu/fuel system and a 50trim. But I got 540cc injectors from the factory so making power is real easy without having to do much.

But we generally tell people on here to stay away from FWD Naturally aspirated Imports if your looking for any comparison in speed to a transam, as FWD NA is the absolute worst setup you can have for a racing platform, and bodykits crack and bottom out on steep driveways and stuff that you have to repair and repaint them often.

Bodykits and daily drivers do not mix.

TT 300zx would be nice. Stock with 320BHP. Responds to mods very well. Do your BPU and up your boost a little and you should put down some very decent daily driven numbers.

Also as sirs said>>> Body kits and dailys dont mix.

One thing I have noticed with Bodykits on daily driven cars is the owners tend to cheap out and go with a fiberglass bodykit that is real low to the ground. The bodykits that are lower to the ground or make the front end stick out farther tend to be the most prone to bottoming out and paint chipping, but especially fiberglass ones.

WIthin months you could need to repair or repaint your front bumper after a putting on a few thousand miles on them.

Besides, IMO the coolest Imports already look fast and are unique looking from the factory and dont need a bodykit in order to look good, whereas your civic dx's and KA s13 240sx,Acura Integra etc, have such mundane stock looks that they usually slap a bodykit on them to cover up there ugly/cheap looking stock body that was given to them.
Most stock turbo cars already come with aggressive looks from the factory, decent stock rims/ disc brakes and are much better setup for making big power and performing well with little in upgrades.

Read our new car sticky if you dont understand all the jargon I said, it explains everything you need to know.

Yes, try to find a new or used AWD import such as the Subaru WRX or the Mitsubishi Evo. I would go for a used subaru WRX or WRX sti as these cars are real real fun to drive and are pretty reliable.

I wish I could've waited and bought that car or the others ones mentioned since I currently drive a 2007 Camry with a fiberglass bodykit, which is also lowered on 19" wheels. I know what u mean by scraping it! hehe. And yes' it's sadly a FWD car as well. However the 07 Camry v6 has 268 stock HP.

Thanks for the input guys.  And thanks sir for clearing up the bodykit issue...I'm still in college so I don't really want a turbo or anythin like that...i'm pretty sure i'm settled on a Honda Accord V6 but who knows if i find a turbo or something else that you guys mentioned i'll look into it. thanks guys.
