theres no such thing as a decent turbo kit for under $2K. Any kit under $3.5K is pointless, and will add as much power as $1K in bolt ons.

Yea man, turning a car built and designed to be a naturally aspirated economy car, is not like dropping in a few bolt on parts and your good to go. You essentially need to redesign a motor built for fuel economy, into a car built for racing/turbocharging.
You may as well buy a car that comes turbo from the factory, since the cost of the kit is almost the same as a decent condition 1g eclipse gsx. I know that the turbokit for my car cost $2400 cuz it was the matter of unbolting a stock turbo, and bolting in an adapterplate and new much larger turbo in its place.
You could not do that for your car, you would need larger injectors, possibly an upgraded fuel rail, fuel pump, clutch/flywheel, an ecu more apt to the large increase in fuel/air that your motor will be taking in, ontop of the new turbo/manifold/intercooler, and even then, it is only as good as that weak aluminum block allows (Most turbo cars use iron blocks, as aluminum has weak stress tolerances under lots of heat from the extra hp added from the turbo)

goto homemadeturbo.com they will tell you any thing you need to know about getting the most power for 2k them got some crazy cars with custom turbo setups. mostly honda and acura. the acura b8 is a strong motor and can handle good amounts of boost with a decent tune

^it only handles 10lbs of boost on stock internals before things get really shakey. as a honda owner honda's were not made for forced induction. they were meant to be high reving n/a cars. honda has never made a car with a turbo or supercharger from the factory.
