Enough about the Horse Power. Doesn't anyone consider the price of a flippen Vet. This wana be viper is 50 Gs. For 50 Gs get a real car a lotus or an M3. Lotus is a 4 cylinder car that I can gaurantee you will smoke any mustang just because how it is built. Or what about good old German engineering. You complain about ricers not knowing about cars I complain about people that drive mustangs and think they are hot *** in their v6 engine just because they see the name mustang. Mustangs only have as much horse as your willing to dish out for. Like a shelby that costs you $120 000. Your probably the guy that gets a mustang pulls up next to an RSX type S and ends up wondering why did I lose? Well we can start on the steel frame. We can start on the lack of emphasis on traction or low rpm power. Or the fact that Imports generaly just know their car better cuz they built it themselves. I admit I love American Muscle I grow up with my dad driving a 68 Mustang pulling around 320 HP so I am well balanced with no bias to one scene or another. But you can not begin to tell me that Acuras suck sure hondas do but all cars have lines at the bottom. Your comparing civics to vets? this is the domestic versus import rivalry civic versus a neon or focus. Plus once your done with the race your focus will probably brake down on the way home. How bout a chevy cobalt 145 HP for an 08? Come on now the new accord is already into the 200s. My friend is just like you talking about chevys as he drives his cobalt. His 06 got smoked by a 95 accord (v6 though which I guese doesn't make it as bad). The reality is if you are spending 50K on a car its not gana be on a civic and I know the only time I would drive a corvett is when I am driving to the BMW dealership to trade it in for a REAL CAR. KNOW YOUR CARS!!!!!!!! Also wings are not for traction because they dont work under 120MPH they will actualy slow you down in a real race scenerio.

LOL, ok after reading that first post i had to reply to this, you said imports fall apart after a year, well my friend!!!, my mazda mx6 nor my honda prelude has never fallen apart on me, and as far as i'm concered the last time checked, your v8 cant hit 8 grand without completely ruining the heads, for example if you start runing that high rpm you'll get valve float which is no good and youll probably drop a few guides then youll start buring oil like gas leaks out of a leaking high pressure line, then youll have to rebuild the damn thing, listen man i'm not going into detail with this any more, the thing is imports are so well balanced and id rather be living in japan thats where the real racing is. and by the way i blew away your mustang with my prelude

2 things, one, whether your car is fwd or not it doesnt affect the areodynamics of the car therefore the wing always goes in the back. two, you get any car you want thats street legal, i dont care, you can get a ferrari if you want, and ill get a skyline and see who wins. hmm, i wonder...

dude, not all wings slow you down some actually help the aero and gives u alot higher top speed now most alumunum wings do slow u down and thos fiberglass weighs you down to, for an excample, my 89 prelude had a APR bi wing and was high mounted, my top speed was 178, when i put on a aero wing trunk levl mounted my speed went up 2 190 mph, so you have 2 b fair wen u talk about somthin, so KNOW UR AFTERMARKET. and i hate corevets lol

yeah i drive a rice burner and i'm f**kin proud of that ... i also have a Z28 camero thats in the low 12 second range so blow me ... don't come on these sights just to talk *** and just so you know these cars last alot longer then your camaros, corvettes and piece of *** mustangs ... and you are right about the stupid body kits and huge spoilers but body kits are for aerodynamics and the big spoilers i'm not so sure what they really do either but you probably have no life if you sit here and talk *** about cars so where you say we're car virgins thats better then being an actual virgin such as you must be so have a good day and get a life thanks

i have a ricer to. i used to own a v8. it was a buick roadmaster with a port and polished ls1 with a 3 barrel holley carb, 4-1 headers, 2.5in pipes to flowmasters. i was pushin almost 400whp, 450tq. i would run a 1/4 in 13.6. in the 5 months i had the car i went through 4 sets of rear tires. i built a 2000 ford taurus 24v dohc that ran with v8 camaros. i built a na tuned 91 crx with 285whp, 1/4 in 13.2 with all the windows and roof open. we woud smoke buit up camaros, we even beat a 96 corvette grand sport. all in all we got 23 mpg in town. beat that *** you wonder why we stick to "ricers". for less money than it takes to purchase your car we can push out twice your power to weight ratio. and when your slug with a big engines blows up at 150000 miles, we ahve at least 200000 more to go. oh yeah. if you have a camaro built after 96 it was eithe rbuilt in mexico or canada, way to go american musle"bullcrap""cough". more toyotas, nissans, hondas, and mitsubishis are built in america than your precious chevy and ford. so unless you know what your takin about, shut your *** mouths.

I would answer, but I know you are too dumb to understand how less power is needed to move less weight. You are also too much of an arrogant prick to even try to grasp the concept that I can own an Oldsmobile 455 ROcket for dragging and still hace my '00 Si for embarassing your Camaro or Monte Carlo whatever, teaching you a lesson in physics.

Why a few of you say V-8's last longer, that proves that you don't know what you are talking about. I have witnessed 2 camaros expire shortly after 100k miles, and I have put 2 Mustangs into their graves, and I only used them to pick up chicks and for city drags. They dont have what it takes to handle their own horses, let alone their own weight. ('00 6-Cylinder and 01' GT, both at low mileage with 2-3k worth of mods in each engine, not to mention the custom exhaust and headers).
My Mazda protege and Civic Si ? I drive the *** out of them. My protege is at 124k and going, and I use it to burn modded sixers. My Si is my new project, and I can already see it's going to be tough to kill that little guy.

ya know...
I looked for an AWD, 225 hp, 25mpg gettin Domestic, that won't start breaking down after a year, but as we all know there wasn't one available. So, I picked up an 08 Subaru WRX.
At some point, when the US automakers aren't pwned by the Oil companies, buy off into innovative design again,(instead of reviving designs from the 60s, the last time US carmakers made truly innovative and beautiful cars)and begin taking pride in their workmanship and quality, I'll consider a domestic again. Until then, I'll just keep blowing the doors off of Stangs and Camer-slows.

the one V-8 that did last forever were the old big blocks, they weighed a ton but they lasted. i had a 89 mazda mx6 that the body was literally falling off it, the motor was still running strong with 250000 miles on it when i got rid of it. now i got a 90 eclipse gsx, the car came from texas so theres no rust on it at all, no pics on here right now but will soon

Imports VS Muscle Engines= Imports, Reason (math lesson folks) you take a Lancer 2.0 stock motor pulling a stock 1200 lb car, you go fast, you get a 63 1/2 Galaxie 500 Fastback with a 289 V8 pulling 6300 lbs of metal, you get a slower car than the import (i used these examples cause i have both) Mods = Imports, Reason (math lesson again) 2.0 lancer it takes 2-3 grand to get a good turbo to push 200+ Horse in that same 1200 lb body, 63 1/2 Galaxie it take 5 grand to stroke an engine to gain 125-200 more Horse in the same 6300 lb car. Gas = the modded lancer getting 22+ miles to the gallon, the modded Galaxie is now down to 8 miles to the gallon, lancer 11 gallon tank 35 bucks to fill up every 240 miles the galaxie 11 gallon tank is taking 35 bucks to fill up every 88 miles. Bodys= imports (not for saftey but everything else) body kits lighten ya about 100 lbs knocking the time down, the fin although is used for traction aimed right better wind dynamics in Corners. Muscle car does a fiberglass kit it take away little weight due to the fact you added another 100+ lbs of metal the the motor stroking it. instead of the aluminum turbo on the import. Crash= muscle whatever it hits say goodbye, and then buff out the damage lol warranty and dependable= import my lancer has a 10 Year 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, guess what i dont have to worry till 2016... Muscle no warranty and the new things they call muscle just cause of the motor only has 32-36 K warranty or 3-5 year, the new import havent had to work on it yet, the 63 muscle i ahve had water pumps go out, starters, signal switches, axle.....they are muscle that means old so i expect that stuff. For retired and older people that have time and money Muscle is great and away to stay with heritage, cause it takes patience and time with muscle to get them right... but if you have a full time job making less that unemployment, don't have time to spend on fabricating, and want to show off, then the import is the bang for the buck. I love my 63 1/2 Galaxie and i love my 06 Lancer both have good and bad, but to say either sucks is just depends on what you using it for and how much you got to put into it. This is just my opinion I love all breeds of car from primered to show, so dont take all this to heart.
