apparently catalytic converters are being stolen off cars like hot cakes, especially in the LA area (surprise surprise).

they are really easy to jack from toyota trucks, so that seems to be the number one victim, but there are still stories of people just using a sawzall and hacking apart your exhaust.

Catalytic converters can fetch a pretty penny, so it makes sense, but just be aware if you are in LA and drive a toyota p/u.  you may start your car to the sound of an open exhaust.

i thought i put a smilie on the end of that

it would sound badass, that is of course until there is a cop within 5 blocks that can hear you idling.  not to mention some OE replacement cats run over 1000 bucks.

I hate to make you jealous DPImpreza, but here in Missouri, pre95 cars are not required to pass any kind of a sniffer test or nothing.

Therefor my 1991 MR2 Turbo is free for any kind of motor upgrades, running catless year round, using an offroad use only 50trim externally wastegate turbokit, etc.

I luv the local emission laws.

btw, wuts ur myspacE?
